Uhh, GTA really does rock though. Sorry, but if you dont agree, youre a damned fool. If you think think the fucking Getaway is better, well, then, theres no hope for you. It’s true that the "OMFG!!! GTA RockzZz!!!" crowd exists, and some are blind followers who can't differentiate good games from bad. But there are also many objective, rational thinking people who have made very detailed and relevant critical arguments as to why the GTA games are worth playing.
But, really, we've all known this about MarkRyan since he started calling ZOE2 the best game ever, so whats the difference?
No he doesnt. I know what Im talking about.Honestly, you sound just like Diffx.

How many journalists are actually in the videogame media business, though? Three? From my experience, it is mostly fanboys who just get paid (off) to write about videogames, with no real training in writing or reporting. You could pick from half from TNL at random (the half that can write an English sentence) and end up with no perceivable drop in quality.Originally Posted by haohmaru
I can see the similarities, though. Both are posters who offer some unique and lucid insight but who can get caught up in their own blatent trolling and complete disregard for other people's valid, well-reasoned opinions (as rare as that may be here).Originally Posted by diffusionx
At least they bring something of value, unlike some posters here.

Not really. It's this kind of arguement that MR, and others, myself included, that bring us right down to diff's level at times. The "my way or the highway" attitude is truly a sad, yet funny, sight to see. Much like a car wreck.

For its time? Sewer Shark is hysterical today! I should know, I just played it for the first time a couple weeks ago.Originally Posted by Prince Planet
Sewer Shark was and always will be crap. Same goes for every FMV game ever made.

Anyway, my beef with GameGO was more that they tried so hard to be elitist but the content of their articles were so mainstream-oriented. It drove me nuts. It was neither here nor there, pleasing no one. I wished it was far more elitist than it was, because although the reviewers spoke their mind honestly, the text was generally fluff. Shou's take on Rhapsody of Zephyr was the only review that taught me anything about the actual game and convinced me not to buy it. I just wished the other articles were as informative.
Whatever. My point is that I don't find anything wrong with elitist journalism in of itself. But the journalist has to earn my respect before I care what they have to say - elitist or not.
Jef, did you ever play the Power Rangers FMV game? They actually put a GAME over the footage, it was amazing. The camp value for the FMV games is sky-high. too.

A bunch of DC games really.
Actually, Toy Commander might be the worst I ever bought. I found that boring despite the praise it recived at the time.
