Thread: Worst. Purchase. Ever.

  1. Dark Savior. Unique game - and has that silly "Saturn game w/ jazz-fusion soundtrack" thing going on that weirdos like me get nostalgic for - but still a very pathetic, depressing followup to Landstalker.

I think Puyo Puyo Sun would be more accurate. I paid fucking $40 for it. I bet the greasy store owner didn't have to sleep in the back on the floor that night thanks to me.

I ended up just putting down a second pre-order for Halo 2 with that $50 bucks since I could only get credit and bought it at Frys for $37. Advantage!
Half an hour? Was it that hideous? The PC and Xbox versions don't look much better. Did you pick up one of those?

What ideas? Stretching? Thats not a neat idea. Its a sub-FLUDD gimmick. One of the worst games ever, easily.

I made so many bad purchases. 99% of them have come from the best 3 years, when I started listening to hardcore gamer's opinions on what is good or not. Thats why I ended up with like, 3 different Dreamcast fighting games and 2 versions of SF Alpha 3, because people were telling me theyre good and I ignored the fact that I suck at fighting games. Now Im selling virtually all this crap on eBay at a loss.

Yep, selling them indeed. Its a shame, but I gotta do it

    I just gotta

  4. Maybe you should post a link. You know, to up the chances of them selling.

  5. Checkered Flag for the Jaguar (had terrible controls).
    Beyond the Beyond (PSX).

KILLING PEOPLE WHILE BIRDS CHIRP!), horrible control and dammit.. it was all bad. You actually had to hold down "B" and a direction to change directions. ugh.. I was 14 at the time and just didn't know any better.
Ah, dear God! I remember Sword of Sodan, I was sooooo glad I only rented that piece of shit. The lead characters walked like they had sticks shoved up their asses and the collision detection was laughable at best. I played this "game" for hours, determined to beat it despite how bad it was. After I fell through the trap floors in what I think was the final stage for the fiftieth time though I finally said "Fuck this shit" and took it back that same day.

Recently though the worst purchase I ever made was Morrowind: Elder Scrolls for the Xbox several years ago. This was the purchase that made me quit listening to people on this board about which games were good. Everyone was raving about how great the game was I went right out and bought it. Worst mistake ever! I think I forced myself to suffer through that horrid tripe for about 30 hours before I had to supress the urge to snap the disc in two.
