Thread: The official 2004-2005 TNL Hot Stove League

  1. Clement to the Sox. 3 years 25.5 million. I like clement a lot, and i may not have all the info, but i like this deal a LOT better than Pavano at 4/$40. He's got heat with great movement, and a much better handle on the control problems he had earlier in his carreer. Hopefully Schilling can teach him some stuff and help him get even better.

  2. I like Clement..he's got good stuff. Why the hell can't the Mets can a young, hard thrower like him.

As for the Big Unit trade..looks like the Yanks will also get Kaz Ishii from the Dodgers.

"The trade has Shawn Green, Brad Penny, Yhency Brazoban and prospect Brandon Weeden going from L.A. to Arizona; Javier Vazquez and two Yankee prospects (Dioner Navarro and Eric Duncan) going from the Bronx to the Dodgers; and the Big Unit along with L.A. lefthander Kaz Ishii coming to New York."

Ugh. I'll miss Navarro. He was our best prospect.

  4. Mulder has been traded to St.Luis..

Billy beane, and Paul Depodestoa are in competion on who can desmantle their team the fastest...

amazing..who saw that one coming?? Guess that makes up for the loss of Woody Williams. When is Mulder a free agent? Will next season be a contract year for him?

actually he has two years left..

  7. Mike: Stone visited me at work today about that, what day is it? If I'm not working that night I'd love to, I miss my niggaz

I had a guy come into Bose today that actually knew Dioneer Navarro, went to dinner with him and his wife after a minor league game once. Really cool guy, huge Yankee fan, said that while Navarro's very very young and about 4 years away from the majors he's got everything you can look for in a prospect catcher. He didn't really think much of Eric Duncan, plus the Yankees aren't moving A-Rod or Jeter to make room for him anytime soon.

I like the trade, Vasquez I would have liked to maybe give another chance but if you can snag Randy Johnson you've got to do it.

I don't like the Clement signing. I was a little excited when I saw him coming up for free agency so I started paying closer attention to him, he seems like a total headcase. I have to say I'm really shocked with what Theo's doing with that pitching staff. I think after losing Pavano and Pedro he had to get one of the Oakland studs, AJ Burnett or at least an Eric Milton. I really don't like flamethrowing headcases like Clement, learned about them the hard way (Weaver).

  8. in what way is he a headcase? I've never heard this before.

yea.. I never heard about him being some headcase. Care to elaborate?

Well.. Mulder and Hudson are gone. Time for the Mets to give Mr. Beane something for Zito since he's seems to be giving aces away for Christmas.

  10. Stormy: He's one of those guys that has a great start then an iffy start then a great start then an iffy start, with his iffy starts being due to mental mistakes he shouldn't be making, shys away from big games, he's got amazing stuff (better than Milton's) but I'm just really freaked out by those type of guys after Weaver. If the Red Sox get AJ Burnett then I think they're ok because Clement would then be your 4 or 5 behind Arroyo (I think Arroyo is going to be a fantastic pitcher, I think he's insanely underrated). Losing Pedro I think doesn't matter, he's done anyway, he just needs to be replaced (I don't think not keeping him was some sort of mistake).

That Big Unit dinosaur pic is the funniest thing I've seen in a long time
