That explains the 40+ Saturn and Dreamcast games they made.
    Konami remake sold.
Twin Snakes sold more than one copy, yes, so you aren't fully incorrect in saying that it "sold", but it has yet to crack 500K. Meanwhile, PS2 MGS2 is at 2mil and counting.
Square Enix made 2 games that both sold pretty well
2? FFCC and... what? To my knowledge FFCC hasn't sold more than 300K, which would make it one of the poorest-selling SE games to date.
Soul Calibur 2 sold best on the cube.
In the US, sure. (Lifetime to date & Sept 04 totals)
GCN SOUL CALIBUR II 687,141 22,200
    PS2 SOUL CALIBUR II 630,213 21,809
Not a very large margin, though, and the PS2 version has sold the most worldwide.

I also love all the "omg it's going to suck on PS2" whining, especially considering Viewtiful Joe PS2 doesn't look markedly different than the GC version; I thought Nintendo fans were the champions of gameplay over graphics

Now while I don't think it's going to suck on PS2, I still believe it wont look as high of quality. Yes Viewtiful Joe looks fine on PS2, but there is a world of difference between the graphical prowess of VJ and RE4. One has the most impressive 3D models and textures seen on a console to date, the other has no textures and is 2D.

From what I know about the GC and the PS2 in terms of specs, the PS2 can't do most of the things RE4 is doing on the Cube. This probably means when it does eventually come to PS2, it will be watered down. Though no doubt still impressive for a PS2 game.

I think I also figured out the whole Fanboy thing: I honestly think the problem is that people get mad because they can't afford to buy all the consoles to get all the games they are interested in. Where as me, I own all three consoles, so it doesn't effect me in the least. I couldn't care less what system a game comes out on because I can play it no matter what. But when you only own a Gamecube, you get possesive and protective of what is on it because you have to justify to yourself why you own it instead of an Xbox or a PS2.

It's sad really, that people act this way.

The movie franchise has been huge. PS2 RE4 will do very well.

Nobody has supported more consoles than Capcom. Nobody.

Nintendo tries everything to get mature gamers.
Name a single game other than Metroid that Nintendo's made aimed at anyone over the age of 8. I defy you.

What the hell would you do next? Everyone bitchin that their to kiddy but here they are showing really mature games and no one notices.
    What games? Name them.

Anti-nintendo are blind to the truth.
Probably because you're making it up.

they put RE on the Cube praying for sales and it didn't happen. Sales for Re hav gone down since RE2 and never touched the place theyonce were at it the first RE. Konami remake sold. Square Enix made 2 games that both sold pretty well Soul Calibur 2 sold best on the cube. Looking at those examples shows that any 3rd party developer can have a game running on the cibe that will sell as long as it is good.
Releasing a game on Gamecube is like buying a lottery ticket. 3 chances to win, 855,967,483 ways to lose.

You should've said two, because he'll bring up Eternal Darkness. Eternal Darkness was heading in the right direction, but the gameplay and melee combat needs a face lift if they want that game to be the tiniest bit viable. It was a good game, though, and exactly the kind of attitude Nintendo needs. But wait, didn't Silicon Knights break from Nintendo? Oh well, there goes that train of thought.

  7. Nintendo needs to make a bad ass ad campaign for RE4. Just advertize the shit out of it. Make a trailer for the movies, get that shit in magazines and some sick TV ads. Just let the damn game run to dazzle people with how it looks. Get some zombie heads exploding, maybe some spooky music and get that voice over guy ready to belt out RESIDENT EVIL...FOUR. This is the first RE game in like 5 years to progress the story further. This shit better be good.

You're absolutely right on this one. Considering their new marketting campaign seems more adult-oriented I don't think this will be a problem. This is assuming, however, that they don't change their marketting by the time RE4 drops. Their content will draw kids no matter how they market their games, but their current ads have impact and make you take notice for a couple of seconds, which is exactly what they should be doing.

Nemesis wasn't a bad game, but it clearly wasn't intended to be the real Resident Evil 3 (which is what Code: Veronica is). In many ways, it's a better game than Code: Veronica, but Capcom should've spent all their resources on Code: Veronica instead of making a consolation prize for Sony fanboys, especially since Code: Veronica came out for the PS2 anyway.
