It happened, I seen it.

To go from a level 1 to a level 6 you need atleast 799 experience points. Assuming that Frostwolf killed each member of their team more than they killed him he recieved 180x4 which is 720 and not enough to get him a 6. Besides, he is still ranked a level 2 and Mzo is still a level 4.

Halo 2 has an issue with showing rankings that aren't actually yours at the game review screen, wait till you get out of it to jump to any conclusions.

Yah, then it definately must have displayed the ranking incorrectly. It said 6 for both of them and I was like WTF WOW!

It was funny as hell, though.

And from my understanding of the ranking system, I thought it didn't matter how many times you killed anybody, except when it helps determine your standing at the end of the round (like in a Slayer match).

Even if you never touched the flag/bomb or the trigger, you'll get experience from everyone ranked under you at the end of the game.

I'll definitely be on tonight. I realized that when there's four of us playing, we usually do Team Skirmish or Team Slayer, but we never do Minor Clanmatch. We should do those more often, especially for Opaque who treats his stats like The One Ring.
