Thread: Official TNL Halo 2 Clan Thread

Listen for the last time, We don't want the only top 12 players in clan matches, but we don't want you running in there without any practice and without a set team that you know how to play with.

Get a group together. Tell mzo, opaque, chux, dave, or sleeve about it, and then go play some unranked matches together to get used to it, and then go balls-out in ranked matches.

All we want to do is organize the clan matches. Let us know what is going on and just ask us before you start playing clanmatches.

Since we are at the top of the major clan leaderboard, we'd like to try and stay there.

When you play in major clanmatches, you are representing all of TNL. If you group up with 7 other people who haven't played much before and have low experience, then you will get better matched clanmatches, so just tell us who you want to play with and ask us for the okay.

Right now the minor clanmatches are completely open, so start forming up some groups. If we're ever going to climb that ladder we'll need several minor groups playing minor clanmatches at the same time.

    Note: Major Clanmatch = 8 players. Minor = 4.

The real idea is to get players of similar level grouped together. That way you will always be matched up against players of your level, as you will progress and regress as a team.

We want everyone to get involved and play with and against each other, we just want to maintain some level of organization over our clan's ranked matches.

Remember that inter-clan matches or arranged games are unranked and you guys can all play as many of those as you want. You can also represent TNL in the rumble pit with Big Team Battle and Team Battle as a party.

  2. Hey I don't know if this is the right place to make the request but can someone send me an invite for the clan. I play under Bulgrim, some of you guys have already played with me, or as Ghost on DOAU.

  3. So, I'm thinking around Midnight EST we can get some big clan battles going. Anybody else in?

I'll give a tenative yes. For some reasons my connection suddenly started lagging like all hell in the last couple minutes, if I figure out where it's coming from by midnight I'll gladly join.

Thanks for making this post, Cowutopia. You saved me the trouble.

Please don't get the impression that we want only the top 8-12 clan members playing in ranked matches. That would suck. But make sure you know the maps real well before you jump into a ranked game.

If you'd like to play in a Major Clanmatch, find yourself a staff member and let them know you're serious about playing for rank (by playing some unranked matches with them). Ideally I'd like to see 2-3 potential Major matches going on at once, each with at least one staff member.

(Hell, I need a lot of practice on most of these maps. With my busy work schedule it's hard to keep my skills up!)

I'd love to be there, but if I don't go spend some time with my girlfriend she is going to kill me.

Opaque and the rest of the leaders are highly skilled at this game. Their ladder ranking is really high, and because Bungie.net matches you up with similarly skilled players, it would be retarded to have Opaque playing clan matches with less skilled members. If we're playing against level 10 teams, and half of the players in the game for TNL are below level 5, not only are we going to lose bad, but we're not going to have any fun doing it.

Find other TNL members of similar skill before you think to do clanmatches. Not only will the competition be more fair and competitive for you, but you won't drag TNL down for no reason other than your selfish pride in ignoring that you're part of a team, and you drag us all down with you when you go down.

  9. Wow, I just had my best Slayer game yet. I think Sleeveboy was in there but the rest were non-TNL. I finished 3rd, tied in kills with the second place member at 21 kills. I'm just happy to be improving!
I thought you were gay.... i guess not.

  10. Yeah, JM (Latro) was in there too.

Good times. Ivory Tower is an awesome map.
