I'm so tired of hearing people bitch about Bush being anti gay, the country voting anti gay in 11 states, etc. First of all, it's not just Bush against gay marriage, Kerry was also. Secondly, gay marriage is NOT a civil rights issue. Gays tried to make it one this election season and it completely blew up in their faces, get over it. Bush and Kerry are both in favor of a form of civil union for gays that's similar to marriage, as are most Americans.

My only beef with a constitutional amendment (federal or state) has nothing to do with gayness. I support that movement since it will probably attain the goal I seek as far as marriage and the government goes, but since I'm not gay my motivation isn't for homos.

In reality, the country has spoken on the issue, though. Maybe it doesn't make them anti-gay in our eyes, but all the gays and t's I know take it differently.

But you know what? They only have Gavin Newsom and themselves to blame.

Kerry lost because he was depending on 18-24. Hell, I'd go so far as to sy 18-29. And he was depending on women. And blacks. Kerry was ho-hum as a candidate. You know how Whackos like to say, "Wrong war, wrong time,"? Wrong Democrat, wrong time.

This is the opinion that mainly drives my pro-abortion stance because it's anti-male feminazi bullshit. We should be praising people who realize they are not ready to raise children yet. Instead, a woman chooses to have a child against the father's wishes and he's called a deadbeat. Bullshit. I'm not giving up my life just because some bitch doesn't believe in abortion (but meanwhile, she doesn't care about having sex out of wedlock). A child is not a consequence.

I was always hoping Dean would get the nod. When they picked Kerry, at the time an obvious underdog, I was afraid something like this would happen. Here's hoping Bush is done with his extremist agenda and will get to this "legacy building" ASAP, assuming that legacy building does not involve crushing my liberty.
