A viable third party doesn't just materialize from thin air. You (and millions of others) almost have to sacrifice your votes for a while, unless we have civil war.
The party system has made it so only a celebrity or a billionaire can be a VIABLE candidate. Someone like McCain, or Dean, or etc etc. *NEED* backing from a major party. If they do not get it, it is political suicide to attempt to try out on thier own. On a local level political noobs, who might have presidential aspirations, HAVE to join a party, or they don't stand a chance. Only in a few select states can a true Independant/Third party have a chance.

We should do what some European countries do. Have everyone run in the primaries against each other, then have the top two candidates run off in the election. Its the only way to get more factions to split off.

  2. Yeah and there were just as many liberal wackos on college campuses that don't have their head grained in reality.

    It works both ways.

I thought everyone who voted for Kerry was intelligent enough to realize there was a better independent candidate. Maybe they should have voted for Badnarik or whoever the hell was the L. Are you saying that there are uninformed people on *gasp* BOTH sides?

Sorry to be so confrontational, it's a little crazy here at school today.

I had the wind knocked out of me, had no idea what I was feeling and it took the obsurdity of a 1:30am conversation with a gas station attendent who was listening to the Bible Broadcasting Network while sitting on the floor and praying for Kerry to snap me out of it.

This sucks, it really fucking does, but this is how it works. If we'd won, the Republicans wouldn't be running off and making threads that read as a third suicide/third leaving the board/third just giving up on the country. They'd be mad as hell and intent on stopping this from happening again.
Thats how I felt last night, though I didn't have the neat experience at a gas station you did =( I was trying to study for a test I had this morning and was just completely distracted by the realization that the election was turning out the way it was. Today's good though, life goes on, everyone can take a breather from the political stuff for awhile - be ready again in time for local elections. I enjoyed voting for the first time.

  4. Bill Clinton might go run for the UN y'know, so don't lose faith in that. If Clinton can't run here ever again, he sure can rule the rest of the world.

  5. That actually wouldn't be too bad. Our stock in the world would certainly go up. Say what you will about his morals, but he's a great public speaker and has a certain convincing demeanor that wins people over.

  6. He also had one of the most corrupt administrations in recent history also. People tend to forget that.

But I would agree he would make a good UN leader.

  7. Micheal Moore hates Clinton, so I'm in for that ride, too.

  8. apparently if everyone takes the same attitude...

i was not wanted during clintons second administration, what an abysmal 4 years of feeling like i had no place in the world, i cant believe i didnt kill myself, what a pitiful American I was

So your saying men dont change?

If his wife help guide him in the right direction... it is somehow still more important who he was back then as opposed to the man he is now?

As you get older.. you get wiser, my wife changed me allot from when I was a teen ager to who I am now.

I am wiser and hold different values.. I am not that old person anymore.
