What do you feel will happen now?
Personally I think by the end of 2006, we will have reinstated the draft (and don't shoot this down, because I don't believe what either side had to say about this anyway), invaded syria, watched Israel invade Iran (maybe participated in it) and either triggered the worlds first nuclear exchange with North Korea, or will by the time its all said and done.
Thats my two cents, right down those predictions and rub em in my face if 2006 rolls around and none of em have happened.

Israel invade Iran? Highly unlikely. U.S. invading Syria is equally unlikely. North Korea is posturing, I don't think they'll do much of anything.

Most people in America aren't being told a lot of what is going on in North Korea, and may only understand the situation better by the time it is too late.
I think North Korea is a big, big concern. I will be very happy if I'm totally wrong and just making a lot over nothing.

Anyway, I think the PLO will melt down, and "Palestine" will disintegrate into a bloody mess of civil conflict and violence.
As for the US invading other countries, eh I dont know what will happen. I dont think it will happen though.
Anyone who knows anything about how North Korea works is not concerned. For the past 50 years or so, they get their way by making threats and shit. Thats how they do things. Thats how they got Clinton along in that agreement to build an energy plant or whatever back in 1993 (I think). They really are just posturing, theyre desperate, its how they do things. Bush just isnt falling for their bullshit.
However I fear that the government will simply let the people starve before realizing its a failed state (theyre doing this now), and the lack of UN pressure (what a surprise!) will help the DPRK in this.

The divide in this country will deepen, each side digging in further not trusting each other. Otherwise, we'll still be in Iraq/Afganistan and the gay rights debate will be back to marriage. Possibly some states will try to enforce still on the books anti-sodomy laws when a justice goes down and see if they can get that back.

If Bush keeps up his confrontational outlook on foreign policy, we are all in for alot more conflicts. I wouldn't shoot down the draft. Look at how the vietnam war escalated from 1965 to 1970. In 1965 we were merely helping the ARVN defend themselves against the invading NVA and Vietcong. Noone thought the draft was gonna be instituted then either, but as we got more involved in the Vietnam conflict, and started to take military issues from a strictly support operation in 1965 to full blown offensive operations, BLAM, draft letters started appearing in 18 year old Male mailboxes. My point is that any one of the conflicts that youandwhosearmy stated has the potential to be a reality. And the problem with all these conflicts is that we will be involved. Either indirectly by supporting one side of these conflicts (Israel and South Korea in this case) with military and political aid, or directly by sending our military in to do the fighting. The most likely candidate for invasion IMO is Syria. What would the world care if we invade another Middle Eastern rogue nation? Not one fucking bit, especially with evidence of a nuclear arms program. Even if the world did care, the Bush administration has shown us in Iraq that even without a coalition put together that will still invade and government build any nation it want's too, as long as they can put together even a fathom of intelligence (or create some intelligence, Bush admin seems to be good at that) that accuses the nation of terrorism/nuclear arms development/harboring terrorists/not sucking the USA's dick.
Oh shit, and don't even get me started on the Palestinian/Isreal conflict. That mess is MOS DEF' gonna get worse. Arafat is getting old, and cannot control the PLO anymore anyway, with all the hardcore anti Isreali factions (Hamas, al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigade) doing as they wish. Full scale war is imminent. Isreal will win the official conflict if one goes down, but the Muslims will just keep blowing themselves up in cafe's and bus-stops until they get what they want.
