I don't know man, the Disney of today is vastly different from the Disney I remember.

Something stupid like that seems right up their alley.

Pixar and Disney have one more movie after this one, so their working relationship ain't quite over yet.
Basically if this one bombs, Pixar has to stay with Disney, if not, Pixar is going window shopping for a new publisher.

Oh, and I'm seeing this in an hour, better go.

  3. Just got back from the theatre.

It's an above average movie. They could have trimmed 15-20 minutes from the movie, and it would've hummed. Instead, a few times it get bogged down in little details that are cool ... but don't really move the story along.

This voice acting is fantastic, CGI is incredible, and of course the small touches are impressive. There are probably 4-5 laugh out loud moments. Even the short little movie before the feature (Boundin') puts a smile on your face.

Its almost not fair to compare it to other movies like Shrek or Toy Story, because I don't think it's in the same league as them ... its more in line to compare it to Spiderman, X-men and other comic book movies. In that regard, it's probably one of the best comic book movies I have seen.

If I was the director/producer of the upcoming Fantastic Four .. I would be shitting my drawers. This movie IS everything the FF should be .... even if they do a good job with FF, The Incredibles have stolen alot of its thunder.

  4. Umm, Pixar wants to go somewhere else. Their contract with Disney ends soon, so they want to shop themselves around. They're like free agents. When your last movie is Finding Nemo, which made something insane like $350 million, youre worth a whole hell of a lot and are very desirable. But if you have a $350 million movie and then follow that up with a, say... $150 million movie, well then... you arent so desirable.

Its like a pitcher who goes 21-5 one year, and then 16-7 the year before free agency. Yea, youre still good, but people might pause a little.

In short, Disney is sabotaging Pixar.

    Duh.

They actually have the capital to produce their own films, though I wouldn't really expect it. But who knows, maybe Pixar will become its own conglomerate someday.

  9. Pixar has taken in a lot of the 2D animators that Disney threw away. It is a like a gold mine.

  10. Source? I wouldn't put a 2D piece past them, and honestly I think we'd all like to see them do some 2D work mixed with 3D.
