I'd go Half-Life 2, because whereas Halo is the in thing to my brothers, I really dig Half Life.
I don't have a PC that could run HL2, so the question doesn't apply to me.
HA! Thought I'd say Halo2 didn't you?
I don't think it is inconceivable given how many copies this game will sell the first couple of months. You can bet that there will be a number of people who play through it and get sick of it in that period and those who just don't like it (but bought it b/c of the hype). You see new releases now sell very cheaply used after a month or so, especially blockbusters hits. Too many copies circulating around, that's all.Originally Posted by Roufuss
Like I said, it says nothing about the quality of the game. I am just more patient than the average gamer hehe.
Yea but those copies will generally retail at EB / Gamestop for 44.99, and the Blockbuster here dosen't accept used games.Originally Posted by kingoffighters

Halo 2, because there's no Steam bullshit to put up with.
I don't even have steam. You can buy Valve games without downloading it.

Don't even get me started on EB/Gamestop's used game prices.... they are huge ripoffs. In fact, their margins on used games are alot bigger than their new games sales.Originally Posted by Roufuss
Anyway, I would not pay $44.99 for a used game that goes for $49.99. It is crazy to save $5 for risk of scratched disc, dirtied box/and possibly torn instructions. Hell, EB deface the instruction themselves putting stickers ON THE instructions. I mean, that's just not right. You can't really remove the stickers without ruining the instructions in some way.
You can try Ebay, or just internet message boards (like this one) for a good deal for newly released game. Hell, I got Phantom Brave for $30 SHIPPED and it is brand new back in early October. So you just have to be more vigilant but deals can be had!
Half-Life 2. I just can't understand why someone would prefer Halo 2 short of having an unbelievably ancient PC. And I'm saying this with my P3 600, which apparently meets the requirements.
Yeah, the year-long delay was a gigantic hit against Valve, but I fully expect this game to live up to every ounce of hype around it.
Halo 2 is a hell of a lot better than the first game, but I wouldn't even call it the best singleplayer FPS I've played yet, let alone multiplayer.
All the bullshit surrounding Steam. If it's true that I need to be logged into Steam even when I just want to play single player, then I'm simply going to pass this game up, and even if that's not true I still hate the fact that I'm basically being forced to decide between getting a physical copy or getting a ton of content. This is Nintendo-level arrogance and it's something I don't feel like putting up with or supporting.Originally Posted by Tain
