One thing about the Japanese HOTD2... it's in English (yay!) but all the blood is green. That's the only reason I don't get it. I'm still waiting to find a couple of the madcatz guns myself.
I have this gun, and the trigger ended up breaking during either some playing of HotD2 or Confidential Misson. Since it was "dead", I opened it up to see what exactly had happened.Originally posted by Kidnemo

Turns out it uses a piece of plastic that's part of trigger for the spring to press the button inside, instead of an actual metal spring (and it had cracked, so the trigger couldn't be pressed). I worked some rubber around it, straightened that half-ass "spring", and it worked fine again. Still a stupid fuckin' idea, if they had just used a damn metal spring it would've been perfectly fine.
The blood is green in the US version too until you beat the game in original mode. Then you get a red blood option. Have you tried this yet?Originally posted by GohanX

No, I didn't beat it when I rented it...
*hangs his head in shame*
If someone can confirm that it's red blood after you beat it in the Japanese version, let us know. I would kill to play a red-blooded game with the Japanese guns.
Oh boy, red blood. I don't even think it's worth it, but it's easy enough to beat Original Mode, I guess.
I've had a pair of MadCatz guns that have survived a LOT of 2 player HOTD2 and a LOT of 2 player Confidential Mission without so much as a hiccup. I don't see why anyone would consider them "crap"... they're good enough to get you through all the training modes in both games (since a friend and I've both individually done it) so they're more than good enough if you're just playing for fun.
These are the only 3rd party controllers I own (save my SNES Ascii-pad), since I'm usually pretty anal about these things, but they're perfect. You can find them at EB and the like for $14.99.
HA! HA! I AM USING THE INTERNET!!1
My Backloggery
I haven't had a single problem with my Interact light gun in two years of owning it.
