Who will develop WWE games for the next gen? I'm doubting it'll be Yukes or THQ due to all the legal horseshit. It'd be fucking sweet if EA let AKI out of the ghetto and make a real deep wrestling game again.

As far as I know, the legal shit goes as far as THQ, at most. It's centered around Jakks, and Yukes can develop the games for a new publisher, should one be needed.

All this thread (and most wrestling game related threads) has done for me is to make me realize how much I miss the Fire Pro series. Fire Pro D is still to this day, my favorite wrestling game, which had a lot of the features that shidoshi mentioned in his post. What I want is the gameplay and features of Fire Pro D, with the graphics, sound, and presentation of one of the modern wrestling games. Someone PLEASE contract Human/Spike/Vaille and make a wrestling game for the western market. I also agree that AKI needs to be brought back in, as their games were right up there with Fire Pro.

I'll keep a watch on this game, and here's hoping that this new developer will breath some life into what's been a stagnant genre
