The second screen is a steering wheel that you use the stylus to turn. You can't control the car any other way. It looks like an awful N64 game and has the worst control setup in the history of racing games.

You can use the d-pad, as every preview has stated.

I'm pretty sure IGN updated their preview saying that the controls have been seriously tweaked, and now controls far better than it used too. Either way, this game looks like trash.

I did play Metroid Prime Hunters at Best Buy the other day, and damn does that game control like a dream. Far superior that I would have ever expected. Also, many previews complained about not being able to turn around easily, I have to say that I never had that problem, you drag the stylus halfway across the screen, and you've done a 180.
