  1. Loving my DS. And since I sold my SP a few months ago I can finally play that copy of Guardian Heroes Adv.

    so how is the backlit screen? do GBA games look good on it? gonna order mine today for the sake of Mario 64 and some GBA games.

    Quality is a much better improvement of the GBA screen due to somewhat higher resolution; you don't have to worry about that washed out looked.

    GBA SP resolution: 240 x 160 pixels
    DS: 256 x 192 pixel resolution and .24 mm dot pitch

    I tested it out with Tron 2.0: Killer App, which actually looks much darker when played on the GBA. Unfortunately, I was also able to pick up on how much more of it was graphically crappy game.

    Also tried it out with Zelda, Sonic Advance 2 and Mario v. Donkey Kong. I can't go back to playing games on a GBA now.

  6. Dot pitch is the distance between picture elements. The GBA games run at the same resolution on both systems but they look a lot better on the DS since the dot pitch is smaller and the screen is backlit. The image is so much sharper.

    The lighting solution on the DS is MUCH brighter and doesn't saturate everything with a bluish hue.

    I'll still have to keep one of my two gba's for multiplayer when I get one. What suckage.
    Picked one up for a friend today. The backlight is sweet. I'm sad about one thing in the metroid:hunters demo. You can do dual-analog like controls with the d-pad and buttons, but can't invert them, so upalways =up. I also realized you can hold the shoulder button to rapid-fire. Wow did that make me glad.

    You don't mean that you're keeping one to play multiplayer with your DS, right? 'Cause that kinda doesn't work.
    I would think you meant "so I can use it to play multiplayer with my friends."
