The best part is that 90% of the people walk in and change the Metroid control scheme so they can use the buttons and ignore the screen (back when it worked, of course).
Unfortunately as of now on Nintendo.com: (not verbatim): "The DS touch screen cannot be replaced due to the way the system is manufactured." Bummer.
I just wanted to say these types of customers are electronically challenged yard apes who I truly despise. Not that I am in retail, but I am a tech for out local ISP. How do these freaks keep a game system without replacing it quickly? The only theory i have is that they think "store demo" = try 'n smoosh to see what it feels like before ya buy. errgghhh And I have no idea how rental shops keep game discs going as long as they do with the abuse and scratches they go through. They're not scratched, they have big dead spots where touching no longer registers.

Do you get to go to E3 for free?
I don't know that I've ever seen a story display handheld / controller / etc. that was in any sort of decent shape. Before I got my GameCube, I was certain that the analog stick was total crap because at every display GC you go to, the analog sticks are always horribly loose and broken down.

I should be able to get in free this year with my shmups moderator status.
E3 2002 was a blast. Met Jonathan Dudlak while playing the Metroid Prime demo, chatted about shooters with him a bit too. I helped him capture some footage of the grapple beam which oddly never made it into any pics in the E3 issue.
But the best part was meeting Mr. T.![]()
