Didn't Kojima want out after 3? But then again, he said that after MGS2...
My guess is that MGS4 is an announcement on the part of the stockholders instead of the developers...
http://ps2.ign.com/articles/565/565308p1.htmlNovember 10, 2004 - Konami revealed promising results for the first half of its 2005 Fiscal Year today in addition to confirming the existence of several of its upcoming videogames. The most notable revelation, of course, was that preliminary work on Metal Gear Solid 4 has already begun -- though the system, release year, and creative team behind it was not revealed. Konami's representatives also expressed a strong desire to sell more units of Metal Gear Solid 3 in comparison to the award winning MGS2, which was released in late 2001.
There's some info on the next Winning Eleven titles there as well.
I wasn't all that into the first MGS and I didn't play the second, but I'm mildly interested in 3.

I wonder who is going to be directing MGS4
I don't see MGS3 outselling MGS2, if only because it won't be getting the same Sony push the previous game did. There's also some lingering backlash from MGS2 story wise among casuals I think, and MGS3 can't ride the PS2 hype MGS2 did upfront either. There's just too much competition now reach the same milestone.
MGS4 will likely be an early PS3 game, in 2006 I imagine. 2005 should be a year for porting MGS3 to other formats (Xbox & PC most likely) and maybe some side projects (Doucment of MGS3 maybe, MG1+2 would make a good GBA release too).

Didn't see this coming?
Anyway, they already had plans to release a new Metal Gear game every two years (excluding special editions and side-projects). They intend to milk the series as much they can.
I imagine it will be Tomokazu Fukushima (who co-wrote the MGS games and directed Ghost Babel) or Shuyo Murata (who co-directed the series).Originally Posted by Do You Like Erotic?
