But, anyone who has seen Copland knows he is no way near as bad an actor as some try to portray him. i always liked The Fortress, with Christopher Lambert. Haven't seen it in a very long time though, so i'm not sure if it holds up or i just liked it because i was young and stupid.

Lock Up, Papillion, Cool Hand Luke, The Rock (count as a Prison movie?), Escape from Alcatraz (Eastwood). The Fortress was okay.

What's that movie about the womens prison with these two chics that are always beating the shit out of each other, and one of their boyfriends always come to fuck them in the visting room? It was great low budget entertainment.
Penitentiary - Early 80's prison blaxploitation at it's finest.
