I couldn't go back to playing Tony Hawk 2X after playing Tony Hawk 3 on the PS2. 2X just felt so slow and the lack of a revert really gave the game an odd feeling IMO.
lookin good.

um I am excited for 4
I think it keeps getting better with each sequel
3 was my favorite
I'll be picking this one up on sale at Best Buy![]()
I am soo getting it for those minigames.
It's a mirror image!
I have been in love with the THPS series since the first game, and the new one looks pretty sweet thus far. It's nice to see that they are going to be trying some new ideas........but I wish they would focus on making more levels like school, LA, Philly, Etc. The fantasy levels like the Zoo and the Airport just don't do it for me.
I find it a little troubling that the best reaction this game can garner from some people is "*yawn*". This game is looks to be quite promising, and after glancing over the latest issue of Game Informer, I am really looking foward to playing this and trying out the new spine transfer manuever.
Personally, I'm totally indifferent to the Tony Hawk series, probably having something to do with the fact that I suck at it. I mean, I'm glad that a good series is out there and keeps on improving, but it's just not for me, kind of like fighting games.
I can, however, understand why the people who loved the first few are getting bored. It's the curse of the Game A Year formula. Call it what you will, Tomb Raider Syndrome or Maddenification, even if you've got a hot new twist to the gameplay you sometimes need to let it rest a bit before pumping out the new one. After the first few, an annual offering can just be too much of a good thing.

How's the spine transfer manuever work? Is it another way to link combos?Originally posted by Regus

From what I gathered, when you press R2 on the lip of a ramp, that does not have an adjoining ramp, you shoot out of the ramp and have enough air to grind on high and lofty rail. Or if there is an adjoining ramp, you smoothly transition over to it, then you can revert into a manual and continue your combo.Originally posted by Keres

I suggest picking up the latest Game Informer to see their diagram, it explains it far better than I.
