The Walt Disney Co. has begun setting up a new CGI facility that will be used to produce Toy Story 3, the Hollywood Reporter reported today (Tuesday), citing no sources. In reporting on the studio's plans for the sequel, the trade publication observed that it "could make it more difficult for [Disney] to resume negotiations with Pixar CEO Steve Jobs to extend Pixar's relationship with Disney." Pixar produced the first two Toy Story films and would still be entitled to significant royalties if Disney were to produce the third on its own. Disney's contract with Pixar is due to expire next year, and Jobs has indicated that he has no interest in trying to revive renewal discussions with Disney so long as Michael Eisner remains its CEO.
Pixar movies have pwned every single Disney-made feature ever since Toy Story was released. There's no way this won't suck.

  2. Fuck..this is bad news bears. Disney, you best reconsider your foolish plan to ruin a great franchise.
I guess you've learned the benifit to waiting.
I agree, they should give people like you something. Perhaps a kick in the balls would do nicely and make you slightly less retarded.

  4. I hear Disney won't have any trouble at all since they have all the models/renders/info/whatever stored in their computers. So they can focus on making the 3rd installment more detailed and such.

    or whatever.

  5. It's not the graphics I'm worried about.

Graphics alone aren't why every Pixar movie is great and every Disney movie blows. It's the writing and direction.

Yeah, but Pixar uses its own proprietary software. Renders and builds mean nothing if you don't use the proper tools to animate them.

That too. The best renders in the world don't mean shit if they animate like N64 models.

  8. No story = no movie.

    Graphics are nothing.

That doesn't make any sense. Pixar uses their own computers, rendering farms, etc. to produce their movies. So far as I know, Pixar has no comittment to just hand any of the work they've produced over to Disney. Disney pretty much owns those characters, but not any of the work that went into making those characters.

At least, that's how I understand the situation. So the future of this movie is that, if Disney does have that stuff, the movie will be shit, if they don't, it will be shit and look like shit both.

The only thing I hope in all of this is that enough of the public is smart enough to understand that Pixar made those films, that Disney just distributed them, and that these new movies have nothing to do with Pixar. I'm pretty sure every review that comes out, though, will be clear in stating that Pixar has nothing to do with what trash Disney releases. I mean, everybody knows that Disney is going to whore out every one of those titles, and that the only thing stopping them from doing so sooner was trying to keep things less rocky between them and Pixar. Once Pixar is gone, let the flood of defiling all of these good titles begin.
