Every day is the Great American Smokeout in South Padre Island, North Mexico.

edit: I thought it was about smoking pot too. Quit smoking? Wtf?

  4. We got Great American Smokeout propaganda stuffed in all of our mailboxes in my dorm. It's kind of irritating. I feel smoking's something that should be left to personal choice, and though I feel it's okay for establishments to ban smoking if they want and for people to dislike smoking, but this "SMOKING IS THE WORST THING EVER, AND IF YOU DO IT IN FRONT OF ME I'LL SHOOT YOU IN THE FACE BECAUSE YOU ARE KILLING ME" attitude that seems to be getting worse and worse is ridiculous. Smoking's banned in all bars in Boston, and I think it's kind of absurd. If a lot of people I knew had their way, they'd ban smoking outdoors in public, too.

Granted, I quit a little over a month ago, but the fact remains that I think smoking is a pleasurable activity and there's no reason people shouldn't be able to do it if they want without being treated like lepers and having everyone in the world tell them how horrible it is for them. News flash: we know.

  5. I can still smoke weed though right?
Well that's like, your opinion, man.

Do you know the prevalence of lung cancer in bartenders? It's not absurd, unless you like inflicting probably the most horrible undignified death on someone else.

That's going a bit to far, that would be like saying to not piss in the ocean.

I look at it this way:
    * You have the right to smoke.
    * You have the right to not be treated like an outcast and told constantly that smoking is bad for you.
    * You DO NOT have the right to damage the health of others.

No you don't. Not saying I shun people that smokee, but if someone decides they want to have nothing to do with a smoker, that's their right.

Prevalence of lung cancer in non-smoking bartenders? Bullshit. The whole "second hand smoke kills" thing has gone way too far, people need to use common sense. No private establishment should be forced to be non-smoking, it's insane. If a business chooses to be non-smoking that's completely different.

A couple years ago I was in San Fransisco and every time I smoked a cigarette outside, 10 Starbucks-in-hand unemployed philosophers gave me attitude. I did get to use a silly line from some old Sharon Stone movie where someone says to her "Second hand smoke kills you know!" and she goes "Not reliably" then blows smoke in their face. I didn't blow smoke in the guy's face but I said the line with as much of an asshole tone as I could muster with a straight face. The guy gave me a look like "You're a monster".

    I'm sorry, but...

    FUCK YOU!

There's a large amount of evidence which proves that lung cancer prevalence is significantly higher in bartenders, and that second hand smoke is dangerous. That little anecdote just proves how much of a worthless cunt you are, hopefully that unemployed philosopher will get the last laugh. It would be Darwinism at its best.
