Really? I thought all were relatively by the numbers sequels? What's keeping Metroid Prime 2 or the new GC Zelda from being included then?

  2. Id probably include Metroid Prime 2 in that list, and yea its from Nintendo, but really its from "Nintendo" - its made by a bunch of FPS-design veterans in Texas. Like Ive said before, you know Nintendo's got problems when the best first party games on their platform is from Sega and Texans. Nintendo proper, the Nintendo I grew up playing games with, is a sorry, sorry ass joke. If you need any proof of this, just look at the first post in this thread.

Metroid Prime 2 is innovative, yes. It can go on the list. Thing is, Nintendo didn't make it, Retro did. And how would you know the new Zelda is innovative or original in anyway? The rest of us have a few shots of Link riding a horse to go off of. You somehow know how it will play? What the story is like? What the dungeons are like? Weapon selection? Controlls? Anything? Do you know anything about the new GC Zelda coming out next year? If you do you need to share with the rest of the industry and the media, because all of us are in the dark.

The answer to all these questions is, "exactly like OOT and Wind Waker".

I have generally been disappointed with Nintendo sequels too but have you played Pikmin 2? If any game makes me think the Nintendo of old is still alive, it's that game. It's a sequel that isn't a rehash and maintains being addictive from beginning to end.

Did you really type those out without noticing EVERY SINGLE GAME YOU LISTED IS A SEQUEL?!

Sequels are the antithesis of innovative, there have very few exceptions to that. None of those games are, though, they're just improving on a formula that was innovative the first time around, if then.

If you don't think the changes made to those games are innovative you just haven't been paying attention.

From that list, three I've played (Half Life 2, GTA: SA, and Burnout 3) are pretty damn different from their prequels.
HA! HA! I AM USING THE INTERNET!!1
    My Backloggery

  9. Just because you make a continuation of a story or whatever and put a 2 at the end of the title doesnt mean the game cant be innovative. That is fucking retarded speak right there, Bacon. Better luck next time.

I have not played Pikmin 2 and Im sure you're right. And yea, it is nice to see Nintendo make one game, ONE GAME this generation that hints at a better time. But, really, its only one game.
