Why is it innovative when these games introduce new elements to their respective series, but when Wind Waker included sailing it was just a gimmick? Personally, I thought the sailing completely changed the feel of the overworld, and although it's true WW felt the same as ever on land, you spent a good portion of the game on the ocean.Originally Posted by Opaque
WW was rushed and could have been better, but the sailing aspect of it was certainly a big change, just like the Groundhog Day aspect of Majora's Mask altered how that game was played as well.
A series isn't going to completely change its play mechanics after every new iteration.
