I have a big thing for read heads as well, which speaks volumes about how ugly I think Rhoulette is.

    Now this one?

    Not so bad.

And why, might I ask, is it a 7-person Halo2 clan? We all know that you don't go into ranked big-team battles with 7 people. Thats just plain stupid.

I'd bet that TNL's Holy Trinity (or whatever you guys call yourselfs now) could take 'em.

The one on the left has really pretty eyes. You chose just about the worst picture of her that exists, and she's still hot. If you don't think she's attractive I'd like to say something else here, but that would probably get me banned.

Well actually they aren't a Halo 2 clan first and formost. At the Penny Arcade Expo they played RAinbow Six 3 and kicked one teams ass in 40 seconds (thank you EGM). Basically they play whatever and since Halo 2 has a clan feature they made one.

    This is true.

Of course it's a marketing tool. So what?

This idea that if someone is in the business of furthering capitalism by selling a product they're not to be trusted would be laughable if it weren't so prevalent. The whole issue of 'selling out' ought to be complete and utter crap for anyone who is no longer 16 and has a job.

Ppl do this w/their fav indie band all the friggin' time. Why? B/c they're insecure and their (the fan's) self-esteem takes a hit when they have to share something they thought was their own (as tho they owned the band) w/ppl they don't like (see: the way 16yo emo kids go ballistic when 'their' band signs w/a major).

Slip and the rest of you are doing the same thing here. "Boo-hoo. Frag Dolls are popular. There must be something wrong w/them...but I can't think of anything legit so...Oh! They're too good looking, or (omgNOES!) they're getting paid."

They're getting paid? Grow up. The FD in the earlier quote had it right. Most of us would kill to work in this industry.

So to all you haters: Shut your hypocritical mouths and unplug your k/b right now. Don't begrudge others their success.

They are? I wasn't aware of that.

I had no idea they were getting paid for being attention whores in relation to video games, but now that I do know, I don't care. They're still just known for being attention whores and not known for being good at video games. That was the initial gripe, but of course you didn't notice that. You're too busy trying to prove....wait, what are you trying to prove?

I played the original Splinter Cell the day it came out and have been a huge fan ever since. There's a beautiful, mutually benficial relationship here. Fatal1ty promotes for ABIT because he likes their product. This is not a new phenomenon. Where again is the problem?
Fata|1ty wins matches, is considered the finest quake(series) player to date, so yeah. He endorses shit. Lots of CHAMPION players do. They sponsor mouse hardware like LeBron endorses Nike. As well as motherboards, chipsets, videocards, RAM you name it (.cfg files even =P ). That doesn't make them a marketing tool, that makes them marketing partners. These girls, to my knowledge, simply play games. That's it. They haven't won anything and while I have absolutely no objection to them (I think it's a good thing), they really, really shouldn't compare themselves to actual champions. The "problem" she want to know is that they're getting endorsements and I am not. Why? They've won less than I have (probably combined) as far as competition goes, why do they get sponsorship? We all know why.

Can we agree that part of being an attention whore is saying, "LOOK! AT MEEEEE!!!"?

I didn't find that to be the case when I met them. Attention whores aren't nice/cool. The FDs are those things (and they're really friggin' good at tom clancy games).

All this "FD = Attention Whore" bs is coming across as...attention-whore-ish.

And my larger point, that ppl (especially internet ppl) will find anything wrong w/others (especially those who are popular or whatever): Why are you hating on the FDs? Because...ppl know who they are? Or is it that you think they're assholes. I could understand your point if they were.

But they're not. Don't begrudge them their success (they're getting paid to play ubi games...I'm sorry but that's awesome).

Tracer hit the nail right on the head.

But isn't Fata|1ty the UT2k4 champ? I thought Thresh was the best Quake player.

And what are these girls even endorsing? Ubisoft games? How come I've never heard of them until now, with all the 50 billion Tom Clancy games that come out every year now?
