James Cameron opened his worthless gob regarding the movie based on the classic manga-thing again:

2007 ReleaseJames Cameron told Associated Press a bit more about the Battle Angel live-action movie. "It's going to be a combination of live action and (computer graphics) but done photorealistically. There will be CG characters and live-action characters."

He expects to start shooting in May of June this year and there will be about 1,500 visual effects shots.

Although they originally planned on a 2006 release, the movie is currently planned for 2007 so that they can "ride the impending wave of digital cinema." The movie will be released in 3-D and 2-D theaters, and will require the 3-D glasses for 3-D viewing.

I've read some of the mangas, and they are pretty dern cool. And I can see Cameron doing a real top notch job with the material. Cameron has been pretty quiet as of late, good to see him jump back into the feature film saddle.

Cameron's a huge Battle Angel fan and his t.v show, Dark Angel, was based on it.

Why do I get the feeling Jessica Alba will be casted as Gally.

I really hope he stays true to the mythology. It's one of the most entertaining, yet most complete of the sci-fi dystopian worlds, even with the scope they've moved to in the Last Order manga.
