Thread: Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater

I'm just glad it's an all-new scenario, not that weird cop-out that MGS2 felt like. I'm nowhere near as hyped for this as I should be, and I blame MGS2 all the way.

  2. As long as you're playing as Snake, or at least a Snake-like character, I'm happy. IGN confirmed that the same guy's doing his voice (David Hayter) that did it in 1 & 2.

BTW, this snippet of dialogue from one of the bosses in MGS3 has me a bit...concerned for the quality of the overall story:

"Life is unending pain, Snake. Do you know the habits of the average Russian bee? They are always in Pain, Snake. It's like the ancient warrior Mao Feng always said, 'Bees are painful creatures.' I will teach you pain for I am in bee-pain, Snake."
    He's in 'bee-pain'. Great.

  3. Ninja Scroll vibe on that one.

Meh. Call me a Japanophile if you will, but I prefer Otsuka (the Japanese voice of Snake). Otsuka's voice sounds more natural, as opposed to the rasping voice in Hayter's Snake, which sounds very forced.

For some reason, the overall English voice acting (from what I've heard in the trailers) doesn't sound very good. Ocelot sounds like he's voiced by the same ninny that provided Raiden's voice, a far cry from the older Zimmermann-voiced incarnation of the character.

Go back a few pages, that's the dude that releases the dogs, or the bees; or the dogs with bees in their mouth and when they bark, they shoot bees at you.
Quick zephyrs blow, vexing daft Jim.

Eh, I'll go with the guy who I can understand without subtitles.

    Finally played the demo.

It's not half the demo that the MGS2 demo was. It wasn't very impressive at all. The best parts were in the Codec conversations, like finding out about Naked Snake's "Boss" and whatnot. The gameplay was totally =/ It felt a little clunky to me.

Oh, and don't forget that the demo resets if you stand still too long. STEALTH ACTION, BITCHES!
