Thread: Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater

  1. Why is it one of the "three most important console games ever made?"

Humor me. I've been out of the loop for a while.

And what the living Hell are the other two?

  2. Just beat it about 10 minutes ago. not only is it the game of the year (by a wide margin), but maybe my favorite game in the last 5 years. I knew that with the technology developers have at their disposal these days, it was only a matter of time before someone made a videogame experience this good. My faith in interactive entertainment has been restored.

everything about this game just oozes perfection. for most of the game i was a little dissapointed with the plot, but the final hour changed all that. And there is so much content to the game that i haven't yet experienced.

It's just one of those gaming litmus tests.

If you pass it, it means you know what the fuck you're talking about when it comes to games.

The other two are GTA: San Andreas and...I haven't decided yet.

  4. Kinopio, you are correct.

How betrayed did you feel when you found the truth out about Boss? Watching Snake walk out of that room, turning his back on all of his good for nothing "comrades," and shirking the Pres was phenominal. Words can't describe the feelings I felt.

So the top three most important contributions to all of video-gamedom are, seemingly, decided by the arbitration of a single man . . . you. I'd laugh if I didn't already feel sorry for the sharp nose-dive this single line just took this conversation.

Halo 2 is nothing more than more Halo, and Halo was hardly "one of the most important video games ever."

Now, if you'd have said, "One of the three most important video games for the XBOX," I might have agreed with you.

And I'd give all that credit you're heaping upon San Andreas to GTA3, but I haven't yet played the new one, so I'll save that call for later.

It would only be funny if I were wrong. Which I'm not.

    1. You haven't played Halo 2 on Live, and

    2. You haven't even played GTA: SA.

See? You failed the test! It's quite simple.

Because Halo 2 revolutionizes the way multi-player FPS were already played?

    2. You haven't even played GTA: SA.
The older I get, the less wanton violence appeals to me (but Mortal Kombat will always a place reserved in my heart.)

  8. Why is the mod not warning Sl1p for injecting off-topic flames into this thread? Hmm. I wonder. Oh, now I remember! It's because he's contributing to it! What a great system we have here at TNL. Mods flaming members in an open, valid, Gaming Discussion thread.

  9. You mean the same mod who's banned Sl1p for a combined total of seven weeks over the past four months?

    Stop whining.

Then try doing your job and get the part of this thread from Sl1p's post down out of here and into a seperate thread (possibly in Fight Club?) where you, he, and Cap'n Veggie can slapfight all you like.
