It doesn't look like it's got much of a plot. And judging from the trailer, it doesn't look like the dialouge will be any good.
Meh.
Anyone see it yet? Impressions? My local theaters aren't carrying it (yet).
I might have to wait a couple weeks when I'm in Mpls/StPaul.
In one of her upcoming movies, NP will star with Owen Wilson in a screen adaption of The Smoker.

Yeah, it's a trademark of Natalie Portman films that they stink overall.
You've obviously never seen The Professional then.
Um, naked Natalie Portman, hi?Originally Posted by Rhydant

You friggin nuts. Oldman was amzing in that film. So were everyone else.Originally Posted by RedCoKid
That's crazy. Oldman's performance stole the show. Who in that movie even remotely compares? Reno? Portman? I don't see where you're coming from at all.Originally Posted by RedCoKid

Semi-naked Natalie Portman. The REAL nude scene got cut out of the movie, so now it's just the stripdance scene, which isn't a total loss.Originally Posted by Mzo
I've seen:
The ProfessionalShe's really young, so the romance is scary.
Beautiful GirlsTimothy Hutton and Portman had some really good chemistry. Their handful of scenes stole the show, especially the ice skating one.
Mars Attacks! The plot is indescribably bad. What's surprising is that all the actors with top billing are axed before the final credits... It's almost as if Burton were trying to make it bad.
Star Wars IPortman now admits she didn't give it a decent effort because she was lonely and pouting during filming.
It shows.
Star Wars IIThis one was alright. The character is still a bit stilted.
Anywhere But HereSusan Sarandon hogs all the scenes, and the lines Portman has to deliver are kinda crappy. The romantic scenes look forced.
Where the Heart IsShe plays an unintelligent Southerner and seems miscast.
Cold Mountainditto.
Garden StatePortman does well here and recaptures some of the magic from Beautiful girls. The weirdness of the film was over the top.
You got that mixed up. It should read: Oldman was friggin nuts in that film. You amazing.Originally Posted by Despair
