Thread: Megaman X8

  1. y'know, now that i think about it, i think i wouldn't mind seeing a console verion of the zero series. i didn't enjoy network transmissions much. i don't really think the chip system or whatever went well with old style megaman game play. pluss there was no way to trade chips or battle....wich is the main draw to the mmbn series for me. but...if a zero game was done in the same 3D style as nt or mmx8 i'd be all over it. i enjoyed playing zero 1 on my gba....but it hurt the hell outta my hands after a while.

  2. Jesus Christ. I can't believe your complaining about a lack of originality for bosses in Megaman Games. They've barely changed the bosses from Megaman 1. I think Megaman 2 and 3 may ahve been the only ones with anything different. Then they just started reusing the same boss slightly modified with a slightly different name. It's all the same basic elements.

Now, i own Megaman x8 and have played through it, and I'd say it's pretty good. What the hell is wrong with Axl? He's basically a new Bass. If you don't like him, don't use him. But it adds versatility to the game. You've got one character who's long range and strong, one short range that can hit all around, and one weak long range that can shoot in every direction.

Sure, it'd be nice if Megaman could get his spotlight back, but hey, if you love him so much, use him. You have that option. That's the beauty of it.

And saying X5 and 6 sucked? What's so different about the and x4? I didn't think there was that big a difference at all. And frankly, X4 was one of the easiest megaman games i'd ever played. At least in 5 and 6 there were some interesting armors for X that added versatility to the game. The new x8 adds some challenge. You're complaining cuz the bosses are too hard (somebody did that earlier in this thread)? Fine. Play on easy. Apparently you're terrible at Megaman games. I beat the game on hard, and bosses really weren't that big a deal.

And the chip thing, i personally like. The one thing i hated about megaman x games in the past was that in about 5 minutes you could find every item and upgrade in the entire game. Can't do that in this one. First of all, there's a lot more to find, and second of all, it's a lot better hidden (of course, that's assuming you guys don't check out every FAQ you can find or the official strategy guide).

  3. It's called constructive criticism. We're not jumping on its back shouting obscenities, we're introducing well thought out complaints about the game series.

As for the bosses thing, lighten up, we like to joke, har har, that kinda thing.

I give him a week before he goes back to GameFAQ's.

Why do you two even know what Sigma in X7 looks like? How could you stand to play it for that long?

If it played as good, hell yes. But I'm not so sure about Capcom's ability to make a good Megaman console game anymore. Matter of fact, I don't trust them in the slightest with it.

Uhhh... Graphics, Music, Endings (especially Zero's) and Level Design, you know,, stuff that matters. The gameplay, well - honestly besides the ducking thing and the armors, was basically the same like every Megaman game, but X5 had the added ridiculous shit with the girl telling me what to do midgame so that brings it down a notch in this dept.

What? Noone was complaining about the difficulty, cocknut. We were just 'saying' that we thought some of the bosses were kinda tough. The Mega games kind of fluctuate in tough final boss fights, some are easy some arent. So fucking excuse me for having an opinion on them.

Ditto. I think the GBA series is new and fresh enough to warrant a console release.

  8. I really dug the store demo I played. Felt just like one of the older X games, just with polys.

Also, that IGN editor needs a good slap. I'll never forget Anoop Gantayat's Giga Wing review. It's not there anymore, but one of the review's screenshots used to have a caption under it that said "Hey! Who just replaced my Dreamcast with a SNES?!" Wow.

IGN = the most infantile review group on the web.
