Thread: NY Erects "Holiday Tree" at Rockefeller

  1. I can name about a million terms that started as derogatory and are now the common term. "Squaw" for instance (when referring to a female Indian girl) literally translates to a derogatory term for the female genitalia.

By the way, just because a term is politically correct doesn't mean you won't get into trouble. Negroid is the correct scientific term for black people, but I dare you to start using it in public. The word niggardly is a fine term, but most people don't know that. Most midgets I know get more offended by the term "dwarf" which is technically the correct term.

Basically, people consistently want what they are called to change because they associate the negative attention they get on the words that are used. They give certain words power and as such, they want the words to change every now and then so they can stop associating them with negative experiences. If they called midgets little people in the carnivals when they were sideshows, they would all get getting offended by the LP term and they would be asking us to call them midgets.

True enough. It just depends what year it is that designates what is and isn't a "dirty" word.

The negroid dwarf walked niggardly toward the squaw, over the lazy dog.

I feel that all other cultures should quit calling mine white, racist, or honky. I don't like the negative experineces that go along with those words.

From now on me and my ilk wish to be called Godidums. Strike that, I want us to be called Betterthanyou Americans.

  7. Why do we call black people African-Americans if they've never lived in Africa or weren't even from Africa in the first place?

If anyone here uses the term "African American", then they might as well go buy their "Holiday Tree", because it is the same damn thing. As for my white ass, I'll keep calling them black and Christmas trees.

  10. When they stop erecting any kind of tree, be it a Christmas tree or Holiday tree or whatever, then I'll care. Call me when that goes down.
