I'm seeing it tonight.
I'm going to see this sometime this weekend. However, if Walken had been in it, I would have already seen it twice.
"All creatures will DIE, and all things will be BROKEN: That is the law of the SAMURAI."
I'm seeing it tonight.

Obviously, he was meant to be a wuss this time around as they give him a back story, but it just didn't seem to fit. Also, as much as I like Depp, I just didn't think the role fit him well.
I am the polar opposite of ElCapitan, I thought the movie was great, and the way Wonka interacted with the kids was golden, I'd see it again.
All I can say is that you're completely wrong.Originally Posted by ElCapitan
Ditto on the whole post, for that matter.
Well that's like, your opinion, man.
They should've dropped the whole thing with the crazy dentist dad. Also, was it just me or did the movie really drag towards the end?
I think Depp made a perfect Wonka though. :3
The songs were great, Wonka was snide, and "Kooky", seemed great to me.
uh NO, hello, Christopher Lee as willy wonka's Dad? The only thing that could have made it better was if CL was his granddad, and Walken was his Dad.Originally Posted by Frito

It was an awesome movie. Wonka is my hero.
I probably should've elaborated.
The flashbacks with the crazy dentist dad were great, but the ending with the crazy dentist dad sucked. The moral of this story is love your family? It felt out of place to me, like it was tacked on just so the movie could teach a lesson to the kids. This movie wasn't supposed to have a moral or a reason for being made, just like Wonka shouldn't have had a reason for being quirky and eccentric.
But that's just me.
Maybe I thought it dragged because I was really tired.
I felt really underwhelmed by the film, but that might have been because I was expecting way too much.
