Thread: Unity cancelled

  1. I think, AND I'M JUST GUESSING HERE, that his next project will be a trippy take on the Tempest style of gameplay.

I know pot makes people lazy but come on.

  5. That sucks. I was hoping that it gets a 2005 release. I do like Minter's work over the years.

  7. Commenting on the decision to halt work on Unity, Peter Molyneux said, “Everyone at Lionhead has the utmost respect and admiration for Jeff’s unique talents. However, we’ve both been in the industry a long time and it was becoming increasingly apparent to us that we would not be able to finish Unity in an acceptable time frame..."
Talk about double standards. Kinda suprised he didn't instantly die of irony poisoning right there.

Yeah, I saw gameplay footage with shooting and such.

Anyway, I really did want this game alot, but I had zero faith in its release all along, so while I'm disappointed, I'm not surprised.

It was "produced" by lionhead. They were never a publisher. Notice in the articly Molyneax mentions "signifigant publisher interest". They were shopping it around. Minter said the reason for cancellation is that by the time he got it done the Cube market with have shrunk so far that no one would want to publish it.
