Last night someone told me that soon cell numbers were being made public to telemarketing firms and they'd be allowed to call you at will. They only defense was to sign up your cell number on the Do Not Call list.
My first reaction was that there was no way this could possibly be true, since A) Those are private numbers, and making those numbers public would be a business and public relations nightmare for every cell company, and B) each one of those calls would cost the cell owner money, eventually rendering whatever calling plan they have useless.
Anyway, I looked up the rumor on the net, and it turns out that a bogus email making the rounds is responsible for the confusion. Click here for the full story.
Still, imagine if that shit happened. I mean, a small handful of people have my cell number, that's it. Sometimes I just want to be unreachable, and if just any asshole could call…that phone would be in the fucking river.

Dude, get "IN".
"Chuy, you're going to have a magical life. Because no matter where you go, it's always going to be better than Tucson."
I ditched my cell phone 2 years ago (Fuck overages) ... but wouldn't a spammer calling your cell phone go against your minutes? In essence, making a collect call on your dime. So there is no way that would be legal, right?
You know what I wonder - How do these email spammers these days find the justification to keep up their bullshit? Its become common knowledge now that email is mostly spam, and spam is stuff that is mostly worthless ads, scams, Bogus companies, etc etc etc.... any person who does email always deletes this stuff immediately and most people now have filters on their email boxes. So obviously none of these email spammers are actually garnering business or success via their spam... so why do they keep it up?
It makes you think that there must be a few fucking retards out there who open spam and actually read it with great interest and take up the offers/scams presented within. Because WHY else would these morons even bother to keep up with the spamming. I know most of spam is automated now but seriously... why do these fucks still bother trying?
