More than unlikely,
www.uncannyxmen.net would be your best bet. I haven't really looked at the site all that much, but what I did see seemed pretty well rounded. From the top of my head:
1998: Joe Casey and Steve Seagle took over as writers of Uncanny X-Men and X-Men, respectively. THe majority of their year and a half run consisted of 1 or 2 part stories. The Hunt for Xavier saw the X-Men finally decide to try to find Xavier, who was missing since Operation: Zero Tolerance. As it turns out, Bastion messing with Cerebro has made it sentient, and it is also searching for Xavier. Its goal is to perform a twisted version of his dream, where mutants and humans coexist by cataloguing and storing all of them inside it. Xavier manages to link with Cerebro, and it catalogues the human race. Once it sees everyone individually, it realizes its mistake and fades away. The Magneto War story would have capped of their run, but they quit when the damned X-Men editors decided to fuck with their story. Alan Davis wound up finishing the story. Basically, Magneto uses a machine to boost his control over Magnetism, and takes complete control over the entire electromagnetic spectrum. He uses it as a means of forcing the UN to give him his own country to use as a sanctuary for mutants. In the end, Joseph(the magneto clone) fights magneto, and sacrifices himself to fix the EM sphere. THe UN gives Magneto Genosha, figuring he'll be too busy dealig with the numerous problems in the country to do anything else. Also, Magneto is left a useless nutsack from using his powers at that level.
1999: The X-Men are kidnapped by a bunch of aliens to deal with Juggernaut, who has somehow gained an incredible amount of power and is trying to punch(!) his way back to earth. They help Jugs, but in the process, wind up in the past on the Skrull homeworld before Galactus eats it. THey finnagle their way back, but during the process Wolverine is kidnapped by Apocalypse and replaced by a Skrull. Wolverine becomes Apocalypse's horseman of Death, as Apocalypse puts his plan in motion to use the "twelve" mutants who were supposedly destined to one day defeat him. It turns out he wrote that prophecy in order to gather them for his own use to ascend to godhood. his plan was to siphon their powers and jump into X-Man's body, but he didn't know Mags powers were damn near gone. As he's entering X-Man's body, Cyclops jumps in the way and they merge and disappear. After, Mr Sinister manipulates the High Evolutionary into removing all mutant's powers. The X-Men manage to show the HE that it was Sinister using him, and he undoes his work, but not before some damage is done, which leads into:
2000: Claremont returns and writes both X books. Unfortunately, it was pretty awful, as the editors once again constantly fucked with his plans. In X-Men, a new group of Mutants called the Neo come out of hiding as the High Evolutionary's removing their powes has left countless of their number dead. Throughout the year, the X-Men face them and eventually come out on top. I don't remember much of Uncanny X-men except that Gambit lead the team, and they mostly faced new villains. The Dreams End story capped off the year, as senator kelly is about to be elected president, using the mutant threat as his platform. At the same time, moira mactaggert finds a cure for the legacy virus. Unfortunately, Mystique and the Brotherhood, decimate Muir Island and take the virus, altering it so it only affects humans. The X-men beat them, but moira is on the brink of death. Xavier manages to get the cure from her mind, but in the process, Cable, who was masquerading as Kelly's bodyguard, has to leave his post momentarily, and in that moment Kelly is assassinated, just as he changes his mind about mutants. Storm and a select group of x-men decide to go off on their own to search for destiny's diaries, of which they have one. Their reasoning is that since they have a record of her visions of the future, it shouldn't fall into the wrong hands, even Xavier's, if need be. They split off into their own book, X-treme X-Men.
2001: Claremont leaves the books, and Scott Lobdell writes Eve of destruction. Magneto has finally solved all of Genosha's problems, and now has an entire country of mutants to use as an army, thanks to the legacy virus curing all of the mutates. He kidnaps Xavier to force him to watch him attack the world. Unfortunately, almost all of the X-Men aren't available, so Jean assembles a ragtag group of new mutants to stop Magneto. They stall him, and Cyclops and Wolverine also arrive on the island. In the end, they beat Magneto, and Wolverine damn near guts the son of a bitch. At this point, Bob harras is removed as Editor in chief, along with fucking Mark powers, and new writers are hired, and hallelujah, they get to write their own fucking stories. joe Casey is the writer on uncanny x-men, and grant morrison takes over new x-men. In truth, Casey got off on the wrong foot, while morrison completely turned the x-men around. In his first story, Xavier's twin sister Cassandra Nova unleashes mega sentinels that complete eliminate the entire 16 million population of Genosha. The seemingly beat her, but in fact she takes over Xaviers body, and then goes to the Shiar galaxy and takes over it. She returns with the Shiar Guard to eliminate the X-Men, but they manage to beat her once again, leaving her a prisoner in her own mind. Honestly, there's alot that happened during Morrison's run, and there's no way for me to summarize it all. His entire run is available in trades, and I can't recommend them enough. They go in order:
New X-Men: E for Extinction - issues 114-117
New X-Men: Imperial - issues 118-126
New X-men: New Worlds - 127-133
New X-Men: Riot at Xavier's - 134-138
New X-Men: Assault on Weapon Plus - issues 139-145
New X-Men: Planet X- issues 146-150. If Marvel weren't dumb, this would have been the perfect fucking ending for marvel. Ugh, I get mad thinking about it.
New X-Men: Here Comes tomorrow
At the time, I wasn't actively following Uncanny X-Men. Chuch Austen took over after Joe Casey left with issue 410. If you go by the internet, he's the antichrist and the world's worst writer, but truthfully, from what I read it wasn't really as bad as they say. At most, I would say flip through it in store and decide for yourself. Morrison left early last year, and Chris Claremont is the writer on Uncanny X-Men. With no editorial interference, the quality on the book is beginning to approach his 80s work in my opinion.
That should bring you up to speed. Tomorrow I'll summarize X-treme X-men. Right now I want to sleep.
