Thread: GT4 RUNS AT 1080i !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  1. one of the main things they added was hitting walls and other cars too hard slows you down and tries to limit using the opponents as bumpers. while it seems like a good idea, keep in mind this does not happen to the cpu cars and they are just stupid drones like usual. which really pisses me off. i wish somebody would finally make opponent ai halfway decent in a driving game and not have the "im a drone....you cannot deter me from my line" mentality.

as far as the structure goes they didnt divuldge too much in the prologue but everything ive read seems like its more or less the same. other than that is the B-Spec mode.

"n terms of getting out of the car, the biggest change here is the addition of the B-Spec Mode which focuses on strategy instead of actual driving. Originally, there was going to be a B-Spec Mode to follow up GT3: A-spec by a few months, but the full realization of this idea had to wait a few years. The point of view here is from outside the car itself and the player can give the driver instructions on how to drive. There are five levels of aggressiveness as well as specific instructions for any time of the race, such as asking to driver to pass the other cars.

While this mode may seem like a no-brainer and the easiest way to win would be to put the aggressiveness level at 5 and leave for a snack, we were assured that there would be more to it than that. For example, giving the passing instructions makes the driver go outside of the driving line which helps to lose a few seconds and give other cars that are ahead an even better lead. As another balancing point, the speed of the race can be increased all the way up to four times regular speed. This enables players to keep working on the strategy without having to watch the entire race play out."

edit. heres most of the ford vehicles. http://groups.msn.com/GranTurismoThe...t4carlist.msnw

    Escort Rally Car (1998)
    Focus Rally Car (1999)
    RS200 (1984)
    Ford GT (2005)
    GT40 Race Car (1969)
    Mustang GT (2005)
    Mustang SVT Cobra R (2000)

i CANNOT believ they have a Vice, Sunfire and a 64 GTO but no mention of the G6, Grand Am or Prix. then again its not final.
    Taurus SHO (1998)

That is retarded. They lied about fixing the AI for Gran Turismo 2 and now, 5 years later, its still gonna be the same shit? They can blow me.

    Very dissapointing.

    Mustang GT (2005)
    Mustang SVT Cobra R (2000)
Its cool they included the 2005 Mustang, but I wouldve preferred a 2003 to a 2000 as well. That Ford lineup is pitiful, looks like they didnt fix the Japanocentric car lineup either (something else they lied about in GT2).

From what youre telling me Dyne, this is more of the same but with prettier graphics and a worthless picture mode. Online couldve been a saving factor. Ill pass.

    19 Toyotas 2 tuner variants.

    22 Nissans 3 tuner variants.

    9 Fords

    7 Chryslers.

    Apparently not.

keep in mind thats not the final car list but i would imagine the other unannounced cards are the usual "super cars". but yeah i agree youd think they would have the last production model mustang before the redesign as well as the grand am in my case (since the g6 has replaced the grand am totally this year). like usual the american lists are pretty bad while we get a load of "doubles" on the japanese side.

and i also agree about the online. this was actually one game i was going to purchase simply because if they did online i wanted to support them. not the case anymore.

Guys you can drive a Ford Model-T there is no need to be sad

edit: also that list is not even close to complete. Gran Turismo 4 has 700 cars. That list does not contain 490 cars.

edit 2: here is your Ford list (and yeah the game is still pretty Japan heavy):

    Escort Rally Car ('98)
    F-150 SVT Lightning ('03)
    Focus Rally Car ('99)
    Focus ST170 ('03)
    Focus RS ('02)
    GT Concept ('02)
    GT ('05)
    GT LM Edition ('02)
    GT LM Edition Spec-II ('04)
    GT40 Race Car ('69)
    Ka ('01)
    Model T Tourer ('15)
    Mustang GT ('05)
    Mustang SVT Cobra-R ('00)
    RS200 ('84)
    RS200 Rally Car ('85)
    Taurus SHO ('98)

  6. So, lets see:

    01. The game is Japan-heavy, just like always.
    02. The game structure is exactly the same as its always been.
    03. No online mode.
    04. AI is as lame as always.

What the fuck is the point? To see another 500 cars rendered? To be able to take virtual pictures of your car in virtual locations? Fuck this crap.

Well apparently people are getting internet play to work in the same manner as people played Halo over the internet on an Xbox.

But you are right, they aren't changing the structure around much. But that isn't the point. The point is to provide a means to race in a realistic manner hundreds of real cars around dozens of real tracks. There isn't a whole lot you can change, but they did alter things like the points system after winning races and minor things like that.

    Also,

How can you not want this game?

But the AI is the same, and am I right in saying the cars still dont take damage?

As far as damage no there will be no crumpling cars, but there is a series of races that have strict penalties for bumping into cars and running off the track, etc.

AI I have no idea I've been searching and nobody seems to be talking about it at all.
