I'm still slowly slaving away at this game. I only play it about an hour or so at each sitting which is only a few times a week. I really like this game, but at times, it just seems to get stale. Although much shorter, Fable was able to keep me playing for hours.

Getting rid of the excessive loading times would probably be the "kick" you are speaking of.Originally Posted by U K Narayan
More than an hour of the game is spent looking at fucking loading screens.
Considering how much running back and forth that needs to be done in the game (especially if you are doing all the sidequests) looking at a loading screen every five to fifteen minutes becomes supremely irritating unless you have the patience of a saint. Fotunately the games narrative is able to overcome this shortfall and deliver an otherwise compelling gameplay experience.
Personally I wish more RPGs were as short as Jade Empire, rather than the brain-numbing 100 hour JRPG crap that keeps getting shovled our way.
Just bought this yesterday, and I should be tearing into it sometime this weekend.
When I bought it, the only copy we had left was a non-special edition though, so I had to settle for that. What am I missing with the normal copy that the Special Edition has? A new party member right? I may "trade" in my copy for the Limited Edition when/if we get one in tomorrow at work.....
You're not missing much. Just an extra playable character that isn't much different from another character of the same archetype and a near useless staff weapon.
Other extras are a making-of video and some other things I can remember.
I should really hop back in and finish this.
*goes back to playing Halo 2*
Cool. Well, I still want to get the most for my money so , I may try to get my hands on the Limited Edition for the hell of it.Originally Posted by Master of 7s
If there's a Micro Center near you, check there. The one I work at still has a full shelf of LE Half Life 2, for Pete's sake, and I know we have a few LE Jade Empire that nobody's bought.Originally Posted by Jetman
I had the LE Jet and it's nothing special. The making of DVD didn't even work right so I got ripped on that part. The characters are mainly for looks from what I can tell. They start off with different atributes but you tune them how you want them so it's kinda irrelevant who you pick from my experience.Originally Posted by Jetman
Y'know what's awesome? The bonus character is still in the non-LE version of the game. The only thing the LE bonus disk does is unlocks the content. I never expected Bioware to have anything to do with such a lame gimmick, but I guess the publisher demanded it. Anyway, see if you can borrow the bonus disk from a friend, you only need to use it once.Originally Posted by Jetman
