I liked the way it wrapped up the series. There will never be nor has there been a better Sci-Fi series in television history.
So I watched it. I liked two things about it, not having liked the show much over all. I like how They played the real theme music when the fleet flew into the sun and I likedall the robot footage at the very end. I was hoping one of them would have a red eye roaming.
And thus it ends with a whimper.
It could have been worse, sure. But it could have been much much better.

So this show took how many years just to reveal that Jimi Hendrix is God. No fracking duh!

There's a lot that wasn't explained... (Starbuck? The Viper? The Dylan song? Etc...)
Starbuck = ANGEL. Angels get free Vipers.
And It's pretty obvious to me that Ronald Moore took a look at all of the unresolved storylines and plot points, threw up his hands and said "GOD DID IT". Then beat us over the head with the relevation during the last episode.
And don't get me started about how 40,000 people all agreed to throw away their faster-than-light spaceships and split up from the only family they'd known over the last, what, five years? These people bickered over EVERYTHING. Absolutely everything.
Oh and the dumbfire nukes being launched by a dead(?) pilot just happening to destroy all of the bad guys? Awesome.
Still, I stuck with the show until the end not because of the increasingly ridiculous story, but the small, character-driven scenes. And this episode had some good ones. Lee + Kara especially. God I loved her when she wasn't such a suicide.
I really don't like the explanation that Starbuck is "an angel". Angels have intelligence, direction, and purpose, no? How could Starbuck not be aware of what she is? I think "Head" or "Angelic" Baltar and Six make more sense because their message isn't manifested in physicality and their "appearance" at the end in our modern day culture isn't "real". I don't like the God angle all that much. Disappointing.
As far as the 35,000+ scattering and going in different directions...
Life was hard enough for these people together over the past 5 years. Are you seriously going to tell me that they've developed survival skills overnight and are going to "stake their claim" and forsake creature comforts and little things like... electricity? I don't think so. That being said, the future is unwritten and they certainly could've found one another again (as the Adama's could have) and begin anew - but that seems to fly in the face of the fact that it took 150,000 to get back to technology that still isn't equal to the Colonials. This would've been far more satisfying if more of humanity was lost and there were far less survivors. I can see the Admiral wanting to be alone and not be reminded of everything that he's lost over the course of the show. Everything and everyone would be a reminder of that.
I liked the episode overall and all things clearly can't and won't ever be explained. It was a great show and I'll miss it. My girlfriend cried for an hour straight watching it.![]()
