should have found some on ebay. and how do newer systems not support them? isnt the one end the standard snes connector part? or did they take a chip out or something?
So with Resident Evil 4 coming out I decided to buy some component cables for my Cube so I can finally play the Cube in progressive scan. Well, I didnt know you can't buy them anywhere except from Nintendo's own website. There isnt even any 3rd party cables you can buy from anyone!
Well I fork out the $30(BULLSHIT PRICE) online last week and the site says its on backorder till early Jan. No problem I thought. Go to the website today and now their not shipping till fucking March!
Something else caught my eye on the site. Did you know that newer Cubes dont even support the component cables?? Nintendo says its because less than 1% of Cube owners use this feature. Well maybe thats because YOU CANT BUY THE FUCKING CABLES FROM ANYWHERE BUT YOUR SITE AND YOU RIP PEOPLE OFF FOR $30 WHEN PS2 AND XBOX ARE ONLY $20 AND EVEN CHEAPER FOR 3RD PARTY CABLES!
So I'm thinking dumbass Nintendo wont even support ProScan on their next system.
Bullshit bullshit bullshit.

Just looked on Ebay, their going for $40! Guess nobody wants component cables like Nintendo says.

Yet another reason why I don't own a Gamecube.

I think there should be a new rule about Nintendo consoles:
If you buy one, no complaining about the ways it sucks.
Because really, those of us that own gamecubes, we knew what we were getting ourselves into. It's our own damn fault that we have a system who's companies philosophies sound like a god damn remnant post. I mean, I have a Cube for some Nintendo titles, and I will get a Revolution, but I know going into that purchase that Nintendo will try in everyway to ruin the experience; you should learn that too.
I had to purchase these component cables direct from them, $30 is indeed a bullshit price but then again it is better than ebay. If their next system doesn't support at least component, then they are retards.
I've known this for quite a while, but I saw it for myself this week on my sister's new Gamecube. It does suck that newer cubes don't support it but I mean it is true no one uses it anymore. I've been saying I'd get some for months and I'm still on composite.Originally Posted by SamuraiMoogle
Stop bicthing. For your information Nintendo had a forum poll on nintendo.com back when the Cube launched. It asked a lot of questions like the cables, free online play and how would you feel if the gba was a controller( looking back at first I thought it was a joke but now....)
The results I saw ( be warn the poll wasn't closed yet) the cables were heavily voted down. online play got 70% percent and the gba controller thing was a bit 55/45. Am not sure about that but it was close.
Anyway Nintendo polled it, they got answers and the answers said take them out. When 1 % of your userbase doesn't use a feature why keep it? Especially when your trying to make a profit year in and year out.
I wish I had a link but this was a long time ago. However I'll look for it tonight.
If your T.V must use progressive scan I understand but it sounds like your not going to buy a game becuase of a feature thats not important.
