If these rumors about the Revolution are true, then it sounds like a great machine to have sitting next to that PS3 I'm sure I'll pick up down the road.
New real Mario game? Instant sale!
As long as Nintendo makes grade A stuff for it, the machine will be worth it. Hopefully the Revoltion will have 90% less filler titles than the `cube has had (Although I really doubt that).

No one will buy another Nintendo console. No matter how good the games are. As long as the games display any sense of being developed for someone under the age of 13 people will staple it a kiddy console and completely pass it. No matter how good the games for it are. Sadly next gen will be the last gen for Nintendo home consoles and handhelds.

I agree that Nintendo has always done ridiculous shit with its hardware "innovations", but occaisionally they really do change gaming for the better. How much different would 3D gaming be today without the analog stick? I'm sure it would've showed up eventually, but I'm glad Nintendo took a chance on it.
If Nintendo had any market sensibility, they would produce a new system that has broader appeal than the N64/GC. Ditching the shitty controller schemes and just designing a standard PS/XBox style pad would be a good start. Including a hard drive and modem are absolutely essential, because we all know that the next sony and MS systems will include them. And dont make the console look like something that belongs in a kid's room.
I love Nintendo games-Mario, Zelda, Metroid, and some of the other franchises. And I will buy the new system and enjoy these games. But Nintendo really needs to get its shit together if it wants to compete with Sony and Microsoft. I don't have any fears of Nintedo totally dissappearing as a harware manufacturer, but if they keep pulling this same gimmicky hardware shit that's been going on for a good ten years now they'll just stay at the bottom of the pack.
Does Nintendo not realize that the average gamer is in their mid to late twenties? They're never gonna be hugely successful until they start to appeal to this demographic. Just by having some good non Nintendo developed exclusives would make a big difference.
They've still turn over a profit. Why care about being number one when the only important thing is how much bread you can put on the table.Originally Posted by toby

...is anyone else bored with the whole "Nintendo is teh kidd1e" debate? Its been going on since the Genesis/SNES era.
Nintendo should finally appease the 14 year olds (or those with comparable maturity)who complain about the "kiddie" games and make "Nintendo Tittie Cum Bath Chainsaw Murder".
... It would probably use bongo controllers and no one would like it.![]()
