I don't quite understand the Kirsten Dunst hate on this board. She's attractive despite her strange teeth. I think she's good for MJ, she's not super unattainable-hot, while still being attractive.
Just saw it. Weakest of the 3. Franco steals the show. Kirsten Dunst and Tobey Mcguire should be fired, especially Dunst. And who knew that the black suit made Pete think he was in the 70s?

This was pretty terrible. And I liked part 2.
I came out of the theater saying this was kind of an okay movie. I was entertained watching it, but had a feeling that when I came back and read stuff here you guys would push me into the hate camp. And im close to it.
There was some dumb shit in here, but like Chux said, what was good was good.
-The black costume stuff was a nerds wet dream on the silver screen. BUT I didint like the way Pete could just take it off like it was a normal costume and throw it in a trunk. By that logic he could have just taken the costume off, nonviolently, placed it in the trunk nicely, tossed a pumpkin bomb in there and just run. This thing should have stuck to him like stink on shit all the time. Not just when it was convenient for the story.
-I didnt expect this, but I thought the Sandman fight scenes were way better than what was there for the Spidey/ Venom fight scenes. The Sandman stuff that was there was amazing. I was really impressed by those special effects.
- Parker dancing down Times Square and the whole night club thing? Yeah what was Raimi thinking? Maybe that this would be fun for the kiddies, but yeah, wow.
- Speaking of kids, I felt like watching Parker in a relationship was like watching my 12 year old nephew with an older high school level girlfriend. I mean it was ridiculous. Me and the people I saw this with were dumbfounded by how idiotic Pete acted in a lot of these scenes. Especially, the Gwen Stacy/Spidey parade kiss? wtf ? It felt like that scene should have been a Black Spidey scene, like maybe something got jumbled up in production.I know genius' are supposed to have no common sense but come on. Parker should have been acting more like an adult. Not like an idiotic grade schooler.
- Venom. Glad he got some decent airtime. Like everyone here I think a whole movie could have been supported by Venom material but, Im not going to complain too much. Im just glad he was actually in. I really hated that Spidey killed him off, but I really dont know how they would have just contained the symbiote. In the comics didnt the Fantastic Four have to bottle it up or something <shrugs>.
- Harrys Butler. I wanted to punch him, but I guess he made the first half of this movie more interesting. If he really cared about the Osborns though he would have outed with that pertinent info and not been a dick.
- Sandman/ Uncle Ben retcon extravaganza? We didnt need this. I guess Raimi felt Parker had to have some strong motivation to kill someone and the audience just wouldnt get that Black Costume was bad ass enough to push someone to do just that on its own.
- Harry/Pete fight, Team Spidey End Battle, Frenchie Bruce Campbell
- No Alex Ross drawn art at the opening credits = bummer.
I agreed with this earlier review Korly quoted. Peter did some out of character dumb stuff in their relationship , but MJ was completely out of character with the whining complaining, etc. Key Word: Character: Neither one of them had any.Mary Jane Watson and her relentless narcissism and whining,
*Oh, and another thing. The main character of a comic book super hero action flick should not cry like a pussy more than three times in said film.It was embarrasing watching Pete bawl like a newborn every 5 seconds.

Sources say Amazing Spider-Man #333 (June 1990) is the first issue in which Venom declares he wants to eat Spidey's (or anyone's) brain. Written by David Michelinie, illustrated by Erik Larsen.
Larsen's responsible for the speak-n-slob, standing floor-lick appearance; Michelinie, for... everything else.
17 years of utter suckage.

Yeah, I just re-checked that issue, and you're right- Larsen did the brain eating.

Yeah that's a pretty strange thing to complain about. Peter was always the most human super-hero character, bad things always happened to him and he always dealt with it in a realistic way.
