Plus, I wish the damn thing had an Xbox Live Aware feature where someone could be playing offline and be able to check on the fly when others are playing.

Hm, while I definitely can't dispute your concerns, they still seem a bit exaggerated. It's ashame that Capcom didn't code the game properly so that a player could gracefully forfeit competing before a match goes underway -- but that's the card we've been dealt with. Don't worry so much -- or at least, get worked up AFTER it's been revealed that everyone as you put it is suddenly less interested in taking advantage of the entire roster.

And for what it's worth -- if you're truly looking to study up and improve your skills, playing online isn't the ideal place to achieve that unless arcades are non-existant in your area.

Also, I'm not worried about the whole boss thing to any great extent. Sorta like when I'm flying I think "hope the plane doesn't crash"...not something that I think is likely to happen, but it would suck if it did. That and no one buying the thing are the only ways that this wouldn't be fun...well that an crazy amounts of lag.

Anyway, I'm in one of the few areas where there actually is a decent enough arcade scene, but finding decent players there is pretty hard as they keep odd hours...that and they all the ones I've seen posting online seem kinda like assholes. That's the main reason I've never been involved with the local "scene". This is sorta my return to 3rd strike (I played it a lot in 99 and 2000 while I was in Boston), so it's not so much like I'm relying on online comp to teach me the game as I am using it to brush up again/ just have fun.

"Restricted?" FG tournaments, which never ban shit, have banned Akuma for over ten years, in both the US and Japan. He is the definition of flat out fucking broken, and if he is usuable online, the game will become a degenerative mess. His air fireball alone is so messed up most characters can do nothing about it; the game was not built to deal with such a beast and it shows.

Akuma is far from broken. He takes damage like a bitch and his air fireball is easily countered. Trust me, I use him. He's definitely not the "best" (thats Chun Li) but he's the most fun to use.

I seen the street fighter 2 edition controllers in EB, but they were just the Controller S with a SF2 picture & a different color
but the pics shown here are the ones that look like the Sega Saturn controllers? are they Gamestop exclusive?
do they have a port to let the XBL mic connect?

Just checked with the local EB and Gamestop stores here in the mall, and neither of them have the NubyTech pads (Xbox or PS2) in stock as of yet. According to EB's system -- they won't be available until April 15 (I only got the ETA for Akuma, Guile, Chun Li, and Ryu). Gamestop has yet to even get a reserve SKU. So if that EB store is selling them, they're breaking street date.

Bahn,if you felt like paying 60 bucks you could get the arcade stick.its for Xbox and PS2 and it is a dream.i have tested out:Soul Calibur 2(xbox),KoF00/01/02/03,3rd strike and Marvel vs Capcom 2...its great with all of them.its just wierd cus i am sitting down while using it instead of standing up like a cabinate. And the only difference between the arcade and this is the button curve outward instead of inward.

Best 60 bucks i spent all week
