This year was great for bad comedies.

I think I saw maybe 3 movies last year and regret watching two of them.

    It's just too expensive nowadays.

Since then I realized what a meaningless hunk of shit these awards are.
I realized the Oscars were crap, when a movie like My Left Foot, beat out Born on the 4th of July for best picture. Then Daniel Day Lewis wins best actor along with that.

Dude, Driving Ms Daisy won that year, not My Left Foot

Yeah, I just realised that. I couldn't believe that Born on the Forth of July was beat out by Driving Ms. Daisy. Tom Cruise played the best role of his career in Born on the Forth of July and then loses out to a nobody in Daniel Day Lewis. Cruise will never win an award.

Eastwood will probably win for Best Director, much like he did for Unforgiven. It's a shame he never won for best actor.

I dunno, Driving Ms Daisy came on the other night and I enjoyed it quite a bit, pretty great movie, I don't really ahve an objection to it raking in the oscar.

Yes, a nobody. Here is his list of movies:

    2001- Gangs of New York
    1997- The Boxer
    1996- The Crucible
    1993- The age of Innocense
1992- The Last of the Mohecans
    1989- Eversmile New Jersey
    1989- My Left Foot
    1988-The Unbearable Lightness of Being
    1986- A Room with a View
    1986-Nanou
    1985-My Beautiful Laundrette
    1985- The Insurance Man
    1984- The Bounty
    1982- Gandhi
1982- How Many Miles to Babylon (TV)
    1977- Sunday, Bloody Sunday

Before My Left Foot, with the exception of Gandhi and The Bounty, his roles have been in movies that nobody really cared about or heard of.

Was his role in Gangs of New York, all that memorable? Not really.

Morgan Freeman made that movie great. He is such a great actor, yet he doesn't get the props he deserves. Shawshank Redemption would not be the same movie, without his presence in it.
