I was playing Rumble Pit, and this guy kept calling me a faggot, and then at the end of the round his white kid ghetto ass was like "Yo, man, why are you cheating?"

I was like "Wtf??," and he said "how do you always kill me with one shot? You're cheating." I'm guessing he had bad lag or something.

I was very confused. Somebody else suggested I was using a GameShark. I suggested they go fuck themselves and went on to another game.

I was playing Battlegrounds (a discontinued Revolutionary War HL1 mod, total server population: 80 ppl) ... and there was some guy on there crying "h4x". It was depressing that the mentality goes all the way to the most inane FPS games.

And what a sucking living that is. Bug-hunting and program-breaking are pretty grueling and mind-numbing, and to play the same game over and over again is a task reserved for the lower circles of Hell.

I believe that is Bungie's mentality actually. I'm pretty sure they don't consider any of this "cheating" and don't ban people for it. Most of the problems are inherent in the game engine, like picking up the flag through walls and such. There is no way they could fix these things without an engine overhaul. It’s just apparently their map makers are retarded and didn’t think to make every wall thicker than the range to pick things up...

You're wrong and you're wrong. Obviously you have never read any of the newer stories on Bungies website stating the exact opposite of what you said. They do consider this cheating, and they are banning people. Have it for what it is, they may or may not be banning people, but either way they are completely against this.

I thought they said stuff like taking the flag through walls wasn't that big of a deal and they would allow it? I'm not about to sift through a 115 page thread on another forum to find what I'm looking for, so I could very well be wrong.

The way I see it, Bungie needs to step up and be like Blizzard (banning people using fog-of-war negating exploits and releasing a patch to remove the bugs) or like Capcom (fuck it, we've got our money. Play it how we shipped it). Bitching about how people are "cheating" by doing stuff using standard hardware and software, in an online game where everyone must run the same version just to play together, is passing the buck.
