Thread: Nina Williams: Death By Degrees

  1. I didn't like it either, but Korly wanted to play it so I brought it over his house. He played it while the peanut gallery threw scathing comments at it, which was in fact, better than playing the game.

  2. Smile Yuck

Read up on the Tekken 5 demo included in the game. Apparently you're limited to one-player only and choice of Asuka or Raven..the two new characters.

It's official..there is nothing good to be found in Death By Degrees .

Tekken Bowling is still the best Tekken spin-off game ever. Unless they announce Xtreme Nude Putt-Putt or something(Then again knowing Namco they'd screw it up by only making Ganryu playable...Sumo Wrestler yech)

  3. I only played the first 15 minutes, which weren't spectacular, but I'm not willing to give up on it yet. Besides, I didn't really understand what all the control were (doing the bone breakers, using weapons, etc.) so it might get much better once I understand that.

    Haters.

EDIT: I just read the IGN review, and now I guess I'm ready to accept that Halverson is totally full of shit in his review of this game from PLAY magazine, because he never really mentioned this:

Open a door five seconds later and it will load into another ten second cutscene followed by another cutscene exiting load. Walk about five meters, examine something, and watch in amazement as the game loads one more five-second cutscene followed by one last cutscene conclusion load. Help!

  5. Aye, touche.

  6. I just found out I'll be getting this for review, and if the game ends up sucking as much as it seems to, I'll still be able to enjoy the Tekken 5 demo.

    Oh yea.
Samurai Spirits RPG for Neo CD.
To boldly go where lots of men have gone before...

  8. I was going to sat Mortal Kombat Mythologies feat. Sub Zero on the N64.

I find DbD so boring that, in fact, talking about it is also boring. With that said.

I want the following from Tecmo:

FIRST: They should show Namco how to make a spinoff game using your assassin character. This means Christie. Perhaps it can be Dead to Rights-ish with the use of her Panther in parts. I'm not sure the NG formula would work - but something fast, easy to control but hard to master seems like something well within Tecmo's range. Something like Oni but with less repitition and shaped up controls would be ideal I think. Joust Williams will complain about its camera.

SECOND: I will require an Outrun style game with more vaired environments and a more open-ended structure with lots of minigames included (not unlike DOA:XBV, but with more detail). Instead of some guy and some chick in a ferrari like in Outrun, it should be Tina and Hitomi driving cross country in halter tops. Halter tops? Yeah... with polka dots. They can stop in marked ares and minigames can be played. GOTY.

THIRD: Leon needs his own game. He's by far the most overlooked character in the series. Since he's a mercenary this should be a fucking no-brainer. In this game, we can find out how his wife/signifigant other died and why. Why, being "why was she in the fucking desert wearing a sweater," (see DOA2 story mode).

    FOURTH: Ninja Gaiden sequel. Easy.

FIFTH: Ninja Gaiden clone feat. Kasumi. Ayane can/should have a bigger role in this too.

SIXTH: A modern-day Streets of Rage style game with the illogical pairings of Bass, Ein and Zach. Zach will be to this game as the Kangaroo was to SOR3.

Any other games are icing. A more elaborate Volleyball game would be nice.. with the ability to actually explore the island and many more non-volleyball related minigames and passtimes available. Hold 'em in the Casino for instance. Four player Volleyball and better controll over the actual volleyball would be nice too. Keeping a partner should be more an option rather than a nessessity. I was also pretty disappointed seeing the strawberry feeding in the intro, yet none of it in the actual game. I thought the potential for that as a minigame was huge.

    This is my post.

I always said, if they add intuitive, fun gun play to the NG engine, they'd have the best game ever made (though I personally think NG is way up there already).

BTW, I think tekken is fucked in the head and you're all even more fucked in the head if you were expecting this spin off to be good.

What the hell does that even mean? Tekken has a head? It has mental problems? It's unstable?
