    Don't underestimate Microsoft.

    Halo 2.5 rumors anyone?

That is the one game that would make me turn it back on... if I can find it for $20.

  4. It's $20 at Wal-Mart, and probably everywhere else now.

While Microsoft's gaming division may not be earning money overall, isn't Microsoft, as a whole, very profitable? Isn't this what really matters to them? Besides, every sale that MS gets, is a sale that Nintendo doesn't get. I didn't mention Sony, because they're already easy sailing right now.

    No, he's right.

Halo 2 does suck when compared side by side to the original Halo.

All the tweaks and changes they made in an effort to make the game better had the exact opposite effect.

Bungie completely fucked up the formula that made the original Halo so much goddamn fun. Nerfing the magnum was the first idiotic mistake, dual weilding is just a lame fucking gimmick, and the grenades, once harbringers of impending doom, have been turned into mini fart bombs. Many levels go on for way too long (Arbiter), there are still repeating textures everywhere, and the fact that there is no online co-op get a huge thumbs-down.

Pile all this on top of a weak, sloppily executed, poorly conceived and just overall craptastic "story" with yawning plot-chasms everywhere and Halo 2 does indeed suck.

Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going back to for my tenth run on legendary and maybe some Live play for a few hours.

Clash_Master gets it. It was said before the system even came out that the Xbox brand was a long-term deal and wouldn't turn a profit untill well into XB2's lifetime. The fact that they actually DID turn a profit was probably a suprising one. Halo 2 will do that for you I guess. Bodes well I'd say, assuming they can keep up a satisfying product in their next system (which I wouldn't assume).

How long will they stay. Halo is the only franchise that can push Xbox Live. Forza motorsport will not keep 1.4 million people entertained al through 2005.

Halo is the only thing MS has got. WTH will they do when Halo gets stale with the public or Bungie does something different with the game design that alienates some players? ( Like LoZ:WW did)

Way to talk about a game you don't know much about, remnant. For all we know, it could be the next Gran Turismo online. Besides, you act like the new Splinter Cell and Unreal 2 aren't coming out soon.

It's pretty hard for a game to get stale when its sequels come out every two to three years. You're confusing Microsoft with Nintendo here.
    R.I.P. Paragon Studios

FOrza will not keep all 1.4 million on Live interested. You really think people will play Unreal 2 and SC3 all year long?

Like Zelda( LoZ:WW 2003-New Zelda 2005) or Mario who only had one sole adventure game on the GC
