yes.....the gayness is very much implied throughout the entire movie.
    Well, that sucks then.
Whats even worse is that you know another Alexander movie done the right way, wont be done for a while if ever again, thanks to this thing blowing. No movie studio is going to put all that money forward on another, better version of Alexander thanks to Oliver Stone.
Hell, I was surprised to see another Batman movie come out after Joel Shoefucker shat all over that series.

Baz Luhrman was going to do an Alaexander movie... the guy who directed Strickly Ballroom, Romeo + Juliet, and Moulin Rouge... If Oliver "back and to the left" Stone ended up with a gay Alexander the Great film... image what Baz would do...
Quick zephyrs blow, vexing daft Jim.

Luhrmann was moving forward with his production of an Alexander the Great movie, which in turn caused Oliver Stone to drop the project he was currently on and rush into production for his version, solely to be the first one with a finished movie on-screen. Luhrmann was unable to get the needed funds for his version and it ended up being cancelled. Way to beat out the other guy with your wonderous vomit, Oliver Stone.

P.S. Baz Luhrmann kicks ass. Not so much the startingly typical chick flick Strictly Ballroom, but more the incredibly interesting version of Romeo + Juliet and the wonderful Moulin Rouge. And how in God's name the banal Chicago got Oscars but Moulin Rouge didn't is beyond me, I suppose the whole concept of good music in a musical just flew right over the voter's heads.

I agree, I was just saying his movies are pretty fruity, so if the "homogay" attributed to Oliver's downfall... Baz might have just dodged a bullet.

How the hell could they mess that up? The great story is all there, written in history, the conquests and shit - HOW could they mess that up?!
Its because Oliver Stone is an egotistical, short-sighted, silly little brat. He is also a raging liberal crazy, and feels the need to link everything to Iraq and Vietnam. He also felt like he was able to "critique American society" by having the homosexual relationship in the movie.

It worked out well, though. When the movie bombed he blamed red state homophobia and went back to work.

Its sad though. The potential is there for an amazing, Return of the King/Lawrence of Arabia type epic. I just hope a director who actually has talent will do it in the future (although it wont be soon - after this bomb nobody is gonna touch it for at least a decade).

And when they do, it will be completely shitty and knee-jerk, with Alexander being the butchest un-gay dude ever.

I haven’t seen the film, but if the blatant homosexual relationship was their. Maybe he should have gone in the route of Spartacus, it had both homosexual, and very political parts in it..

    I'd watch it.

  10. Man this movie is really hated. I was going to go after I saw some reviews but fuck that. I guess it's back to downloading anime, waiting for X-men and watching the LOTR triology again.
