But despite what I just said I'll compare the two breifly just for the hell of it:
Futurama is a wonderfully amazing and deeply touching show, but come on, nothing holds up to golden age simpsons episodes, nothing. Futurama is a show that is more amusing than laugh out loud funny, you might mildly chuckle and think to yourself and think: "heh, very clever", but the moments that make you burst out loud laughing are pretty spaced out, if there are any at all. This isn't a bad thing, but it's a completely different experience than an old simpsons episode. Whereas in those episodes of the simpsons there would be both extremely clever jokes and laugh out loud moments in every single scene, in every episode, from begining to end. Then again, Futurama has a much more emotional impact, but that's not what the simpsons is about, the shows really are different animals.
- I always considered Sprinfield to be Illinois, because there is a Shelbyville in it's neighboring state of Indiana.
- I'm amazed that people other than myself actually remember invasion america. I'd love to see it again some day, especially since I no longer remember what the show was actually about. As for the Roughneck Chronicles, I only ever saw a single episode, but it wasn't bad, I would've watched it if it was actually syndicated better (I think it ran on scifi channel in the early mornings or something). These two shows bring up memories of another completely random space cartoon, lets see if any one remembers it: Red Planet.
