It looks okay to me, but aren't his legs to short for a more advance/realistic leg animation?
Also, walking diagonally produces no animation.
Can anyone give me some pointers on how to fix my left and right walk cycle in this?

(Click on him to make sure it's focused and use the arrow keys to walk)
I want it to look more fluent and less shuffl'y'. I like the up and down animations but the left and right look more like dancing .. or something.
Is there anything online like a walk cycle reference chart or something?
Anyways, thanks in advance.

pixel, your dude is "skating".
btw, the leg which is coming forward has to kick out. your character isn't doing that.

yeah like klonoa said hes skating and not walking
also it helps if you put a little height change in his hips and head
you just arent as tall when your legs are apart in a full stride as you are when your legs are together but thats me maybe it doesnt work so well for pixel animations
but the skating is from your timing being off a bit I think
I had the same trouble when I was animating that robot in flash. It just takes some fiddling with the timing and a head bob movement to work it out a bit more.

The walking animation just looks jerky, which is something normally in 3d animation that easing can aleiviate.

I like the animation cycle I got now. Still gotta add the diagonal animations but I added the room behind him and it now scrolls with him aswell.
Its coming along I'd say.![]()
he still seems to be skating a little bit
add some head motion too :P
Yeah, he does look a little wonky still. I just can't get it right.
Anyone wanna give it a try? I can upload .gifs
Anyways I added the scrolling BG to him. I know it's a huge room but at least it's coming along, heh.
