Thread: The Impossible Games Collection.

  1. I love Bump n Jump but I'm pretty sure it goes on forever.

When I was 9 I would play that thing all day only to get up to the 6 or 7th stage I think. Then it got inpossible for me at that time. Has anyone completed the game?

I remember it, I just don't recall if it even had an ending. The game got hard as all hell though.

    It certainly did.

Bump 'n Jump was a good game but man did it kick my ass.

  4. Yow that brings back hella memories.

I beat Friday the 13th. The trick was to get as many of the torches for the kids as possible, and it was all about time-management. Best part was the fact that you had to beat the game THREE TIMES..and it got harder each time

    Turbografx games...gah they are rough.
Blazing Lasers isn't too bad until about late in the game where I just get penis-slapped since they decide to dump the instant respawn.

Raiden Trad- I actually managed to beat this game via abuse of the unlimited continues trick. Good luck getting me to play through that game again.

Cadash- IMO the worst port of the game, which is a shame because I loved the arcade and genesis versions(And the Gen. rev lacks the Ninja and Priest). Aside from goofy gameplay and poor control even with the Priest I couldn't win.(The lack of continues didn't help).

Veigeus Tactical Gladiator- This game suffers from the lack of DUCKING. You're this huge ass mech easily primed to eat bullets..but you can't duck? Forget about destroying enemies close to the ground. Stupid and hard

Hell most any game with no/very limited continues is hard to me. Rastan for SMS, Altered Beast GEN, Target Earth, etc etc

OH: Rare's Blast Corps had me kicking stuff around. Especially the stage with the power-sliding dumptruck and you had to keep the missile on the train from hitting walls in the tracks. Oh and Gold/Platinum/Double Platinuming the levels..wtf

The Final Bosses in King of Fighters 2001. Oh No I missed a jab! Now time to eat a 75% damage super.

I broke Blaster Master in half the day I got to the Final..Final Boss. I nearly lost my mind when I ran out of continues. Milon's Secret Castle I can beat..but I needed Nintendo's help to figure out that you can break through walls.

Wing Arms- Cool 1940s era 3D Saturn shooter. Too bad it has only an EATYOURFACE difficulty setting. Crappy collision detection and a huge hitbox

The final boss in Gyruss 2 for NES...I LOST...ARGHGHGHGH
Gradius 1 if you die once = reset the system

Sadly while I can make serious progress in games like Dodonpachi and ESP Ra De I still need the 30 lives code to finish LifeForce .

Oh yeah..JUST ABOUT ANY 2D SHOOTER FROM THE ARCADES. I mean seriously who thinks of this stuff?

  5. Um..... did Duck Hunt every end? I mean I got up to like level 40 I think then after that if you blink you miss.

I'm pretty sure Duck Hunt doesn't. I was surprised to find out Safari Hunt has an ending so it made me wonder if Duck Hunt does too but I can't find any evidence of an ending.

    Blast Corps had double platinums?!?

Get the fuck out! I came within three plats of finishing that part, and I figured with the ranks I had gained there was ~1-2 bonus stages to go after that. I had to re-do everything for d.plats? Boshit!

Now I want to go back and beast on it... damnit!

edit: Looked it up on GameFAQs, there are no d.plats... so either you or everyone else is on crack, and I'm not sure which. Damn you! Games still hard as hell though. Apparently the Euro/JP versions were nerfed to hell, though -- looking at the time chart on GameFAQs, they added several seconds (at least) to all of the medal levels for every single mission. Also found out what the last rank is (and it's hilarious): "You can stop now." True that.

    ....

Duck Hunt has no ending. You go from 1-99 and then loop back (but the miss meter doesn't reset).

This game was the first title I had imported for any system. The last level kicked my ass. I later bought the US version, to find out WTF those guys were saying. It sounded better in Japanese.

I've yet to beat this one. Still, I give it a run every year and give up in frustration at the sheer difficulty of gunning down that bomber.
