Thread: Hollywood left: owned

  1. If we could purge the broken two-party system, then all this nonsense would be irrelevent.

It's ironic that a country founded on the freedom to choose is limited to such small choices for leaders.

It has been aborrhent to me that when it comes to picking a president, if I don't like my parties choice (Bush), I have no real viable alternative and have to abstain from voting.

Oh yea .. and this is laughable..

This whole 'Hollywood Elite' image was painted by the right-wing propaganda machine on talk radio and FOX News.
..and obviously posted by someone who has only been politically aware for a couple years.

You're obviously making an assumption, but I fail to see what evidence you're basing it on. Oh well.

Yeah, he was really speaking from his years in politics at the Republican Convention. That's why all his major points were condensed so that it could fit into a line from one of his movies. Overpaid idiot indeed.
    Time for a change

  3. Say whatever you want about Arnold he is holding a political office and knows way more about politics than many of kerry's hollywood supporters.

Too bad the Hollywood Left existed before FOX News Channel did. Also the hollywood left gets support of existance when the Hollywood left comes out and bashes the president on their nationaly broadcasted TV shows, talk shows and such. And Talk Radio includes Howard Stern, who bashed the president every single day (to his nationaly syndicated public audience).
    Barf! Barf! Barf!

  5. How did Howard Stern get famous. He is the biggest whiniest bitch I have ever heard in my life.

  6. Of course hollywood is largely left wing, they are, or see themselves as artists. That's a left wing pursuit in itself, right wing people don't believe in art.
Quick zephyrs blow, vexing daft Jim.

  7. I hope that was a joke.

  8. There's a hint of truth in every joke
Quick zephyrs blow, vexing daft Jim.

  9. Oh he used a Winking emoticon, that means he is covering something up!!!
    Barf! Barf! Barf!

    .

No, I'm doing it because you completely ignore what has been going on for the past 6-7 decades.

McCarthyism was a reaction to Hollywood's leftist leanings back in the 1950's. Due to the Red Scare and the political climate at the time, Joe McCarthy was able to parade some of Hollywood's biggest stars out as communist sympathizers. Some people lost careers because of this. The deep hatred for the right was seeded here.

Fast forward to the 70's with the Vietnam War and Watergate. Many Hollywood-types were completely vocal against the war (once Nixon took office). These events brought on a new generation of Anti-Republican celebs (Fonda and Streisand come to mind).

I won't even bore you with the 80's and Reagan .. and then the amount of contributions the Clintons received in the 90's ("Among actors, writers and directors, the percentage given to Democrats was even higher, about 79%." Source: http://www.usatoday.com/news/opinion/e1908.htm )

So, to go back to my original point. This idea of Hollywood supporting the left has been a fact for 6 decades now .. not just some sinister scheme by Rupert Murdoch and his talking heads.

So, are you going to ignore history .. or just keep painting everything in these broad, ignorant conspiratorial brushes that you slap together?

I'll wager, you will do the latter.
